Ok, so Magic the Gathering has been one of my main interests since i was 11 or 12 (I am 15 now). For those that know about Magic the gathering I have been playing since Darksteel. Are there any other Magic the Gathering Aspies out there?
I love MTG! My boyfriend got me into it. I've been playing in tournaments for a little over a year now (and have one a couple Smile). Haven't been playing for that long,  not quite 2 years. Oddly enough I used to collect the cards...12 years ago...and never bothered to learn how to play until I met my boyfriend.

Now I'm addicted. It's getting so bad that I'm dreaming up a couple decks a week. I still feel like a newbie to the game, what with the new sets being "blast from the past" type sets and everyone is talking about "oh this is just a remake of such and such a card" and I've never heard of the card.
As far as planar chaos and time spiral's nostalgia, I know some of it from just playing other formats, but most of it I dont know since I started playing in Darksteel My first tournament was in Betrayers and since then I have won countless FNM, 2 JSS, top 4ed 2, top 8ed states, and top 8ed a ptq.

I like you am "addicted" I play magic almost everyday. I play everyday in the like 2 weeks before a tournament. I also  post/look on forums at least 2-10 itmes a day.
what's MTG about? i've always wondered what you did in that game..
It is kind of hard to explain eveyrthing. But basicly you build a deck and so does your opponenet. you both draw 7 at teh beggining of the game and one every turn after that. The goal of the game is to reduce your opponenets life total (20) to 0. to do this you play land which are basicly reseources that alllow you to play your spells that will hopefully win the game. If you want to learn, go to magicthegathering.com and click on the learn more about magic or something like that
I love playing tournaments, especially limited (although I'm not as good at limited as I am at constructed). Playing at FNM has helped me socially. Although it's mostly guys playing there I find I get along with a lot of them and have made some friends.

I find some difficulty, however, sometimes. For example, it's good etiquette after a match to shake the opponent's hand and say "good game". Sometimes I can bring myself to do so, but other times (though wanting to, especially if it really was an awesome match), whether I win or lose the match, I can barely say a word afterwards. I have a hard time making eye contact with the opponent. But I guess that's ok because my eyes should be on the cards.

Another problem is guilt. I love winning matches, don't bet me wrong, but for some reason I feel bad sometimes if I beat someone there who I consider a friend who I constantly beat. I feel funny afterwards and awkward in my responses to my win. I'm always telling them things like "oh that's a cool deck you built", even though it lost.
As for the etique, I dont really say anything much about the game. Mostly its good luck or nothing. I do kind of feel wierd if I won becuase my opponent got land screwed and its like good game but not really. I realkly like to play in tournaments as well. My least favorite format is limited while my favorite is extended followed by standard. I would agree, magic has helped me make friends because i can count friends one one hand. 1 of them I dont really see anymore so maybe I dont consider him a friend. I am kind of thinking out loud here. I would consider him more like an "old" friend but we never really get together anymore. I have another friend that is a true friend and one more that I met playing magic. Besides that I have a few just "normal" friends. My biggest problem is that they are 17 and 21 so my parents dont like me hanging out with them becuase I am 15. Has anyone besides me read the article from mtgsalvation about autistic magic players. It can be found at, http://mtgsalvation.com/109-aom-july-fro...magic.html

Tell me what you think of it
