I've had a story going in my head for a while. I've used it as a kind of escape, or sometimes formed it as something fun to do when I'm bored.
I've been thinking now that I may have enough of it together to get it all out in text, or even animate it.
The characters I've made have gone through some changes over the years, but recently they don't seem to be changing that much, only some minor stuff, like some things that happen, name change, or some minor physical changes.
So, basicly, I've made a world that's similar to our own, but there are a few things that we don't have.
So, there are 3 other species, besides us. Lykoi, Salamanth, and Pleithos.
I've tried to show that Lykoi and Salamanth are just like us, but have diferent cultures, but I'm not sure people will "get it". They might just see them as "fantasy monsters".
(The way I usually describe these to others, "Lykoi" and "Salamanth" are interchangable with "Wolf" and "Dragon", just so i don't have to explain what i mean when I use those terms.)
In this world, there is also an energy called AEther. Yes, spelled with capitol "A" and "E". Because I like it that way.
Because of AEther, there are things possible there that we'd never have here.
Technologies run on it, and run clean. People can channel it through their bodies and change how it acts to perform stuff similar to magic.
I base my magic system off of Fullmetal Alchemist, how they draw circles to channel energy, but the circles are more of a mental trick for mine.
The story follows loosely the events occuring around a group of people from different areas.
They end up fighting some people who are trying to destroy their way of life, for one reason or another, and in their journeys, they meet people who help them, and they meet people that they end up helping, and a few that they have to fight.
I notice that I've only got one character that could pass as human.
eh.
I'll put up some character bios if anyone's interested.
I've also got some artwork I've done of a few characters too.
I'd like to see some feedback if possible.
That sounds just like me. Some time ago I used to fantasy about medivial (and partly modern) like civilisations living after the next Ice age. They lived on a new continent that had erupted in the middle of the atlantic ocean. There were numerous human races. Some only differed in size, but some in way of thinking, especially the people of Mecaize and the people of Spectacon, and there also was the Djatharians that were high and had fur all over their legs. One of the really dark enemies were the slumbering high-tech robot society based underground and in space.
The best thing to fantasy about in that world was the way of life, how they used materials and technology.
Right now I am imagining this universe that is taking form. One of the characters there is the one I've made into my avatar.
That's cool.
A motto of someone I know is "Tell your story."
I think we all should do just that.
I also drew from that fantasy about after next ice-age civilisations. Here is a mecaizian soldier.

The idea of the mecaizians were that they actually have autistic ancestors, but have evolved a more functioning way of life for autistic people, still having many of the traits.
I've kind of debated recently if I should go ahead and make one of my own characters Autistic, seeing as how he already had most of the traits.
Socially withdrawn, intellegent but sometimes not able to express what he's thinking the right way, just plain "doesn't fit in".
I think I made him as an outlet for my bad thoughts, kind of like somebody else to share it with.
but right now I'm working to make him less of an angst-fest.
Ya know, make all my characters more relatable to others, while still keeping them the way they were that made them special....real hard to do...
I think I counted once, and I found out I've made probably more than 30 named characters.
I think the idea of having it set it the distant future, after the world has changed so much, would be a cool idea.
Mine is more of a "what if things had been different" scenario though.
That's very cool! Would you write AEther like Æther? With the aesc?

Sounds like my magic system in Local Reality. Maggie is the only person in the protagonist party that figured out how to consciously use magic. (Anna can give a large part of her own life force to resurrect someone from a terminal wound. She had done it once to Wojciech who was shot in the heart)
The way you do it is you use white chalk to draw a Magic Mandala. Each Mandala is a circular drawing that represents an element and the sphere (Sun, Moon, Atmosphere and Earth) that governs it. (Fire, Water, Wind and Earth) The mandala activates, and you can get your element to use from it untill it disappears.
Maggie later discovers how to absorb elements and use them without the use of mandalas, although she uses her own spiritual energy to do it, her life force. Life force does recharge over a very long time, though. (Anna was weak for about a week after she saved Wojciech, and unable to gain consciousness for two days)
I can't find the notebook where I drew the mandalas, sorry.
I prefer 2 letters. A and E. I guess I could make up a reason for that....
Aura
Energy?
Yeah that works.
I've got some of the symbols here.
This one is for channeling power for Salamanth
http://data.furaffinity.net/art/moon-bab...by_sun.png
It's used for focusing pure AEther into an amazing destructive force, but can also be used to supply the energy needed for other things.
It's a Salamanth religious symbol.
This one is for Lykoi
http://data.furaffinity.net/art/moon-bab...y_moon.png
It's used as a symbol of change to help in transformation. It also helps in the search for knowledge.
This one is for Humans, but Lykoi use it too.
http://data.furaffinity.net/art/moon-bab..._earth.png
It's used to aid in healing and protection. It's sometimes put on shields.
It can also be used to contact the planet itself, and is used this way once or twice in my story.
This one is dangerous to use, but it's for Pleithos.
How exactly it's dangerous.....I have to think more on how to explain that....

I actually have had real problems with this symbol.
It wouldn't upload when I tried, the file itself just won't open on some computers, and when it finally did upload, it was smaller than the others, while being the same filesize.
Even more stuff towards its penchant for causing trouble.
i'm currently in the process of getting some bios done....
Hey MoonBaby--completely off topic, but can you explain your avatar? I know what the infinity symbol means, but what's the rest of it?
The character you're thinking of "making autistic"--I think he already is, if his personality is what you describe. No need to actually call him "autistic". However, I'm all for developing his personality throughout the story; auties grow and change just like anyone else, and he can go through an "angst stage" and later come out of it as he becomes more stable and learns to take things in stride. Don't change him too suddenly, though; that will just make readers wonder who just took over his brain!

The symbol is a Theta-Delta. It's an unofficial symbol of Therianthropy.
And yeah, I'm not going to try to "make him that way" if he already is. It's more of something I noticed myself.
Yay for diversity.
I've done a few Bios now, but should I put them here or the writing forum?
I'd say here, it would be confusing with two threads about the same topic.
I'd say here, it would be confusing with two threads about the same topic.
I suppose.
If the mods or admins feel it would be better suited for 2 topics about the different parts, I guess they can do it then?
I'm still revising some, so I guess I'll post them later somehow.
I've also thought about a new language too. I can't quite remember what I come up with though. I do know that i'd like for my Salamanth to have pictures as a written language. Not even like pictographs, but a type of mural that flows around on the page, each word area going to the next one to express a complete thought. It comes from them coming from the open desert, where there really isn't much to write on.
Also the Lykoi write from bottom to top in long lines, because they scratch their messages in trees and it's only natural that you'd notice something at the bottom of a tree first before looking up the trunk.
Salamanth spoken languages are really gutteral and incorporate a few sounds that can't be pronounced by a human throat without hurting something.
Lykoi language is more body language, scent, and varied vocal tones, like real wolves.
They would have to speak a Human or Salamanth language for anyone but another Lykoi to understand them.
The thing with the Lykoi is, I really wonder what it would be like to be able to communicate with something like that. Imagine catching a whiff of something on the breeze and then knowing exactly how somebody a few feet from you is feeling from the scent they give off.
It would sure be easier for me to express what I'm feeling if that were the case.
I have a picture of how it is to meet a Lykoi now, by the way, are Lykoi werewolf-like creatures? Half human, half wolf? Also wonder if Salamanths are half salamander.
Lykoi are, the easiest way to discribe them is Werewolf Elves, but they have some other animals mixed in, yes.
Salamanth are lizard/kangaroo/horse, I got the name salamanth from "anthropomorphic salamander" yes.
i still don't quite have what they look like down completely though. i'm still trying to get a good percentage of human in there while not having them look like just some guy in a suit or something.
i've had some other people draw their interpretation though, so i think it would be cool to see yours too.
Well since I've got webspace, I think i'll uplaod the text files there instead of pasting them here.
Here's the link to the folder.
http://www.denofmoonbaby.furtopia.org/charbios/
I guess I'll post again when I upload a new one, or make changes to one, to tell people about it.
i'd also like some input on these bios, because they're going to be what I use to keep my characters' personas together.
If there's something that really doesnt make sense,(other than plot-related stuff), tell me about it.
