my biggest regret was not finishing college, i went 20 years ago straight out of high school, nobody knew i was an Aspie not even me. I am in college now and with the help i am getting from student support services i am exceling beyond my wildest dreams. I have always considered myself to be an idiot and stupid because i have always been told i have no commen sense, well it turns out that i have no common sense because i am an aspie. commen sense is a learned behavior by the way. just so you know my college counseling center diagnosed me and helped me find appropriate help.
One thing you might consider is on-line learning for a while. You take classes over the internet and email your homework to your teacher.
Another thing to consider is, if you go to a college or university you find the disability specialist and ask for a little help getting started. That person will do everything possible to help you out: give you a quiet place to hang out if you need one, make sure you don't get into a classroom with lights that will bother you, get you a computer if you need one, get you a tutor if you need one, steer you toward nice teachers.
I guarantee you will find at least one professor who will really enjoy working with you just the way you are.
I am a college professor and I bend over backwards to help all of my students. But because I am the mother of an aspie, I LOVE working with students on the spectrum. They have so many great strengths and talents to share!
Last year I even offered a special class called "Autism in Literature" where we read only literature by autistic writers. What a great class that was.
Good luck and let us know what happens.

KatieKun11,
My only words to you are these, "Don't give up on your dreams."
All the best,
"Do you guys think going to college is a good idea?"
It wasn't for me. For me, it was a big waste of time and money (and no, I never finished).
I quit because I was tired of having to take all these b.s. required classes which were of no use to me - and because I was tired of wasting money on a math class I could never manage to pass. So, I left, and have never regretted doing so.
I'm new; I don't know if I'm doing this right or not. I like college. I have been going off and on for the last 30 yrs.. I like to pretend I'm on a game show when I'm taking exams. Profs always treat me as if I'm an idiot until my tests come back with the highest scores. The profs never give me a car though. Just don't ever ask me to write a paper. You can take an awful lot of science, music and math classes before anyone notices.
