Hey whats wrong with being in the interest of keeping your job, sorry but if its act nice falsely (however crappy I am at it) or lose my job, I'll gladly fake being "nice"
Yet if everyone was genuinely nice you'd never tell since everyone would be alike.
People DO suck. Deal with it. I found that I dislike about 98% of all people I meet. Well? I can't change those people and I sure as hell won't start liking them just for the sake of being "social". God, I hate a LOT of people. They can be sooooo stupid at times. The only thing that's worse than watching stupid people is doing something stupid yourself.

NT's can't leave you alone, they call that 'being social'... or something like that.
I pity them.

EXACTLY!!
I am reading the most amazing book written by an NT woman, inspired by her AS man.  Anyway, she's basically explaining the criteria in the DSM by using the most accessible examples of specific Aspie-like behavior in her husband and in other Aspies.  What applies to this thread is that she wrote that NTs have social interactions for the pure pleasure of it.
This just struck me as SO different from how I am.
It's like when I read in a different book that Aspies are motivated by a pursuit for knowledge and truth, as kind of a life mission.  And I thought DUH but then realized that the statement was made in a disbelieving fashion, like, HOW ODD, for someone's life to be based on learning and truth.  But for me it was, of course that's how I am, isn't everybody, and then realizing (and feeling stupid about it), no, they aren't, and that just explains so much.
When I read that post about NTs enjoying social interaction it struck me similarly.  How bizarre!  Sure, SOME (very few) social encounters are like that for me, but the vast majority are just chores that must be done to survive, to pass.  I hate it and am always uncomfortable doing it.
The Aspie adult group that I meet with once a month is an example of an exception to the rule for me.  No small talk, talk about things that matter.  Nirvana, though still taxing and exhausting.  That's the only type of social encounter that is worth the effort.  Otherwise, give me a book, any day.

Now you've got me worried about whether I should speak to anyone when I find an Aspie meeting to go to. Smile

Here's a good example of a dumb emo kid, I was talking to a guy at work the other day (he's still in highschool).  I had some Led Zeppelin playing, he heard it and said "how can you listen to this crap?".  I asked him what's wrong with it and here was his only reason, he said "it's simple, there is absolutely no reason that anyone should ever listen to music from outside their generation".  I couldn't believe what I was hearing.  Later on I saw that his wrists were all sliced up, so I asked about it and he said that he cuts himself to relieve stress.  I said "if you're gonna go to that extreme, why not just smoke weed or something?"  His response was that drugs are really bad for you, and that he doesn't want to risk getting cancer, apparently he doesn't seem to realize that slashing your veins open isn't exactly therapeutic either.  And here I was thinking my brain was all screwed up.
when guys start their talk about sex, i dont care if its a aspie or NT, (cos they both do it) it just freaks me out.

why do ppl need to tell me in detail what they do or with whom?
i mean if you enjoy it, good for you, but i dont need to know.
i dont understand how a whole conversation can be about the girls they slept with this weekend. or blabla
so boring.

why cant someone just start talking about quantum physics instead?
