The more I read and hear simplar examples told to me, the more I know that Aspergers is not the general cause of our over-all work problems. Yet, some parents, spouses, etc. continue to blame a person's Aspergers. It is so unfair on so many levels to have this happen.

1: Looking for a job isn't easy for anybody, and 25 to one thousand other people are looking for the same thing. You just can't look and get one the first try. However, some people don't understand and think that it is that easy, when really it isn't by a long shot.

2: It's stressful to hunt for a job and go to interviews. Even if you are popular or not, it's a challenge to know what details some manager expects. Do some of them seriously turn someone down because they wear one pair of plain silver stud earrings or have a spilled drop of ink on the corner of an application?! A big mess or sloppy dress, I can understand, but over every tiny thing? It makes me think "Gee, the boss there must be a real jerk." What's next from a boss like that? "I don't like that type of pen. You're fired"?

3: They claim that helping customers always comes first. Yet, me and many, many other Aspies and other types got fired and manipulated for that very reason. example: I was kept off the registar during my last job despite the fact I helped some customers leave feeling better, resolving at least two fight issues between worker and customer, and doing what other employees didn't but should have. He stupidly kept telling me "You need to step up and do your job. I know your trying very hard, but your too slow!" Grr!! I'm perfectly capable of doing the registar. I heard some pretty stupid excuses for his "your never good enough" attitude.

My mother decided to be 'helpful' and go to talk to my boss about how my AS makes things harder for me. That was humilating and so untrue about me. It was one huge, degrading session of how my Aspergers makes me slow and mentaly less able. Sad 'snif' Did my mom seriously believe it was my fault? I had to clean and stock bathrooms. The same with my work area and costumer area. Prepare the foods for sandwitches. I was supposed to put it all to one side and help a customer. there was always a customer to help, yet, he expected it done in five to ten minutes! Nothing I did was ever enough for him, even when I did handled the whole freaking store while my one coworker twiddled his thumbs and took break after break doing nothing!

4: No one has time to socialise with a workworker all the time. Doing that is considered rude by many customers, so I don't normaly do it during work. Sure enough, they always expect us to socialise at the drop of a hat, go to Christmas parties, etc. to show that we are a 'team player' and bung like that. Rediculess! I personaly don't like it when I ask for help, but some employee turns to one side, ignores me, and chats for half an hour about her cat.

-How is Autism really the cause of all this trash? I'm so tired of people blameing me and my Aspergers for someone else's stupid and bad behavior.
You are probably smarter than your boss.  - because, like, wow, every kid grows up wanting to be the manager of a fast food restaurant.  And, of course, I would work in a fast food restaurant, not because I really always wanted to, it is because that is what work I can get to keep myself from being homeless and/or starving.  Most people hate their jobs and they only try to hide it.  At least you gave good service to the customers and if he could not see that, he is stupid.
