I am sure proud of this painting, because it was my first attempt of a gorilla. I used a wooden plaque instead of watercolor paper. no, I never actually painted a gorilla before this. I usually paint cats. I painted this last year while enjoying an afternoon listening to the radio. My sister said this is one of my best paintings so far. I don't mean to be bragsy about it, but hey, painting is my passion.
That is really good!

If you just look at the top half it looks like it is encased in emerald. I think that is a nice effect.
Thank you!Rolleyes Smile
That gorillia really has sort of a deep, saddened, comtemplative facial expression. This deserves originality points...I'm not really sure what kind of art(ist) it reminds me of, but its very well done.

I can't wait to see more!

take care

I think the usually look a bit sad, or else they just have this wild face.

My sister-in-law has a painting that was actually done by a gorilla.  I like your painting better.

Do you use acrylic paint or water colours?

I prefer watercolors. Acyrlics are too messy for me. Yeah, gorillas are pretty intelligent. So are elephants. I heard there was an elephant named Tarra who held a paint brush with her trunk. She splattered the paint on some paper, and spayed a little water over it to give it a sprinkling effect.
