Full Version: Trying to finesse the idea of my character

I am thinking about experimenting with making my own science fiction comic, but I am currently not sure how I would do that and if I would be patient enough. Still it might better than trying to jump right to 3d animation as I am doing now (I am so bored of it that it goes painfully slowly).

I am trying to improve my character that I currently have as avatar.

()

This was the first idea of how he looked like in body:

I later found that he could have use f a whip with a blade in the end and that he should have more obvious horse-like legs:

I also had Idea of having the blade at the end of his tail and giving him fist weapons:

Right now I drew a simple scetch with oversized fist weapons which I am quite happy with. I think he should appear a bit more naked when he is young, possibly quite diffirent as young. The rings is supposed to give an impression of that he is in a tunnel:

I think it could be quite genious actually to make him more naked as young, showing that he have evolved from a very emotive character to a quite cold one.

I really like the look of your character.

Your avatar for some reason always reminds me of Unlimited Saga. I can't say why though. Maybe it has something to do with its style or maybe there is a monster in it that looks similar or it could even just be an effect in the game or the way you have coloured it. It is really bugging me.

What are your comics or films about?
My ideas for films and comics are about a science-fiction universe. The universe has almost no connections to this time apart from human and human-like characters. There is maybe surprising less technology in my universe, should somehow remind you of pre-medivial ages. However some places of the galaxy are consumed by (evil) nano-technological creatures.

This character I have drawn here is the one character I have had the most interest of lately, I haven't changed my idea of him very much from that I wrote in the other art thread (demonic character).

I also had to come up with an character fast at art school some time ago, that's a human pilot flying a spaceship with a giant blade. I posted a drawing of a such spaceship in the 'sometimes ideas just pop like corn' thread(shouldn't have named it that). There also was this other character I once drew, a boy living in a devoloping country.
Oh, well I said something contradictory in my last post. Some humans use technology as this pilot with his spaceship. The technology used in developing countries should somehow remind you of 1950's.

The expression of his face became like "x2", but that just me. Because I draw very small details on paper, things may appear randomly, so it is kind of the new character each time. If I were to make comics it would be difficult to make the character appear similarly each time, I would have to grab my 3d modelling tool, which is so slow and boring, and I don't know if it is possible to get a 3d scanner or wathever the name is.
When I made the first sketch of the characterI took inspiration of a fantasy creature I invented at the end of primary. I have currently decided that my character is half alien and half human. The alien specie should be similar to the fantasy creatures I invented back then.

This is a older picture of a such alien creature, there were multiple versions of the alien which I named Kyprym back then, this one is less similar to the one I had in mind.

This is picture I made some time ago which is more similar:

I think I really like that last one there.
