The first meeting of 2007 is being held tomorrow at 9PM GMT as always. That's the 3rd janurary. I hope to see you all there.......
We hold meetings in the chatroom as we have members internationally so it would be unpractical to meet in person in a fixed location.
What is discussed in these meetings?
I wish I could take part, but I cannot.
Why can you not take part?
I can't access chat, unfortunatly.
Error messages etc?
What happens when you try?
What I get is a page that looks like a normal thread page except with the thread missing completly. Basically everything is ok up to where it says 'Aspies for freedom / chatroom' then there is a short gap then it says the normal stuff at the bottom of the page 'contact us' and so on.
No Java, depending on what browser you're using you should be able to download it here:
http://java.sun.com
An alternative is to download an IRC client and connect to irc.chatautism.com then join the channel #aff.
According to Theosoph's sig I am using Netscape 4, which I presume is terrible. Also after some research I found that Java will not be released for the PSP in the forseeable future. Also I doubt it would have the memory to load up the chat anyway, it can barely load up a single thread.
as I said earlier in the chatroom, i'll be there

I forgot you were on a PSP. You aren't actually on netscape 4 by the way, that's just what the PSP reports in order to avoid not working on some sites. It looks like for the time being you won't be able to use the chat service unless you get another means of access.
Sorry

The meetings tend to continue for quite a long time, feel free to drop in halfway through (though we tend not to refresh newcomers too much in order to avoid disrupting the flow of the meeting). Notes will be posted afterwards as always.
Forget the internet !
Gareth: Organize a REAL seminar !
Come on, nowadays flights aren't very expensive. So you can set up a seminar in London, or Paris, or Brussels (!) and invite all the European Aspies to attend.
Then, two years later: another seminar in the USA, Mexico or Canada. Invitees: Northern Amercian aspies.
Then, two years later: In India, or China, or Malasyia. Invitees: All Asians aspies.
I'm imagining it happening already !
I can second that. I've been to Autscape last year and I've had the time of my life there, a place where Aspies could feel comfortable. The problem with setting something like this up is not neccessarily financial, especially if you find sponsors, and a venue that will offer you accomodations for a reduced price.
For a location, the UK is very attractive as it is close to any international/intercontinental airports, but either Brussels or Amsterdam could be considered as well, and would attract some more European mainland visitors.
The only issue you will essentially have is finding the people to make this happen. When you have a core crew of people together, it's a lot easier to put up a WWW page and attract speakers and people who give workshops or entertainment, and things could get rolling pretty quickly!
