The claw machine. You know, those big boxesfull of temtping, lovable stuffed animals, that have a 3 or 4 pronged claw that can be maneuvered and lowered to grab (or not grab) the animal? Well, I work at a grocery store, and we have one in the lobby. I have to pass it every single time I enter or leave the store, and not only do I love stuffed animals, but so do all 6 of my kids! I am addicted to the darned thing. I must have at least 20 or 30 prizes in the house from it now.....
I love those!! =D I want to try one again! They're fun!
I never managed to win anything on the darn things, lol. I preferred the fruit machines.
Hmm I never have won in any of those things I think its just a waste of money.
Well, obviously, like anything that involves gambling, there would not be any claw machines if nobody ever lost on them.
But unlike many other forms of gambling, there is some chance to improve with time and actually develop SKILL.
If you think that gambling takes no skill come over here so I can school you at blackjack!!!
Some forms of gambling take no skill. With the ones that do take skill, the average skill level results in an significant loss, so that whoever's running the game can make money from it.
If you're going to gamble, your best bet (hehe! pun!) is to build up your skill on low-stakes stuff first, and when you get some amount of skill, never to bet what you can't afford to lose--ever.
Once I was at a claw machin where the prizes were plastic pods with toys inside them. I was the first person to use the machine, and I managed to pick up one of the pods! But when it dropped it into the prize chute, it bounced off!
That shows that they are rigged, but different machines have different rig settings. See this video:

Sometimes the box is set to "never" :/
