If you've read my story, these lyrics will make sense.  They are based on it.

I'm Alone

I’m alone
Suddenly I found myself wandering around
I don’t know how I got here and I have no idea how
The only thing for certain is
I’m alone

I’m alone
In front of a huge glass dome
With what seems like the world inside
I’m the only one excluded
But I don’t know why
I’m alone

Teach Me

There was a time when I felt like the world was closing in on me
Invisible walls that no one could see
The pressure was just becoming much too great
There must be more than this decadent state

My mom said son why are you always looking down
It’s a beautiful day and nothing happens on the ground
I said when I look up I get teased by other boys
So if this is life I just don’t see a point

I was alone in my world of self seclusion
I could see people but I could not get to them
I built a wall so I could hide away and protect myself
But along came a doctor who thought that he could help

He said hello I’m a doctor and I’d like to be your friend
I’ve got a secret, I know the way in
I come from the dome and I can help you along your way
I’ve got some lessons for you but we must start today

I appreciate the effort
But no one’s been able to reach me
I guess trying this won’t hurt
And if you can, teach me

Teach me
I like that, it resonates with me, and is very well written. I often use walls as imagery in my poetry too. Thanks for sharing.
Ever since I wrote the story, my writing has improved.  It used to be really bad.  I'd rhyme words like "pop" and "stop".  Now I can rhyme words like "seclusion" with "to them".
That's cool...though I would say, I gave up on the rhyming thing as many great poems are not rhymed and you can become caught up in trying to hunt for rhyming words so that the essence of the poem is lost. It is cool if it works and if the rhyme just comes easily, but if not, it is good to simply veer away from it sometimes.
yeah but these are song lyrics and they sound best if there's some rhyming.
