OMG faint is my theme song, it goes so perfectly with the time period of my life when i was trying to convince people im normal. And my dad actually left me standing on the driveway when i asked him about it. So now when i think about it and listen to that song i get the chills. I recently printed out the lyrics and drew little pictures to go with it.
and "nobody's listen" by linkin park is also very fitting for me.
and "untitled" by simple plan and "boulivard of broken dreams" by green day. OMG...the chills again!
White And Nerdy by Weird Al Yankovic features some of the things I indulge in pretty much everyday. Some others are:
Low Self Opinion - Rollins Band
Fell On Black Days - Soundgarden
I Don't Wanna Grow Up - Tom Waits
Snail Shell - They Might Be Giants
Life Is Killing Me - Type O Negative
Linkin Park- Numb
Evanescence- Taking Over Me (When it comes to Wojciech, somewhat)
System of a Down- Know (MAYBE)
tATu- Ya Shosla S Uma (Direct translation) (Wojciechism in the extremes)
Evanescence- Everybody's Fool (My view of preps and celebrities)
Boulevard of Broken Dreams- Green Day (How I feel as I walk through the world)
Evanescence - pretty much everything, but the one that hits it home is lithium, I would say sodium valporate but that is not as catchy! My immortal too.
Found out why a lot of us identify with Evanescense, the co-writer Ben Moody is Bi-polar, I wonder if Amy Lee is?
There is one song can't remember which one it is, but it goes something like don't fix me I am not broken.
Linken Park and Evanescense have some similarities. I like both loads. My other fav is Korn, some speculation as to whether Jonathon Davies was Asperger's, some of his mad humour I identify with. Wicked bloke.
Arrgh. Hello. I don't like that song much.

Ben Moody is bi-polar. OMG LOL ben.. MOODY! lol..well i get it at least. Im sorry...that was horrible
"Somewhere I Belong" - Linkin Park (as I didn't feel I belonged anywhere much)
"Medication" - Garbage.
"Guest List" - Eels (another song about not really belonging)
"Whose Problem?" - The Motels.
"Bother" - Stonesour (when I'm feeling very depressed)
"Cracking Up" - Nick Lowe (again, when things are not going so well)
"Living In A Child's Dream" - Master's Apprentices (because I miss that kind of thing now that I'm an adult)
I once made a comment to a friend that I could pull at least one line from almost any song and fit it to some aspect of my life. Although, to be honest, a big part of why people like certain songs is because they can identify with the lyrics, so a lot of songs play that up and that's why they're popular.
"February" by Dar Williams is eerily apropriate to certain parts of my life right now.
"Winter" by Tori Amos (notice a theme? lol)
"Amnesia" by Chumbawumba
"Outsider" also Chumbawumba
"After All" Dar again
"Iris" by the Goo Goo Dolls
"Are You Out There", yet again Dar Williams
"Father Lucifer" Tori Amos
There's many many more, but that's a taste....
Oh, and "Clap Hands" by Tom Waits has become when of my favorite songs ever since my bf played it for me. ^_^
My answers will date me. They don't all apply all the time, but there are times for each . . .
Satisfaction. Rolling Stones. (The best rock and roll song, ever.)
I am a Rock. Simon & Garfunkel.
Paint it Black. Rolling Stones.
Piano Man. Billy Joel.
Eleanor Rigby. Beatles.
James. Billy Joel.
Sound of Silence. Simon & Garfunkel.
Honesty. Billy Joel.
"Subterreanean Homesick Alien" by Radiohead:
The breath of the morning, I keep forgetting
the smell of the warm summer air.
I live in a town where you can't smell a thing.
You watch your feet, the cracks in the pavement.
Up above, aliens hover, making home movies for the folks back home
of all these weird creatures who lock up their spirits,
drill holes in themselves and live for their secrets.
We're just uptight, uptight, uptight, uptight.
I wish that they'd swoop down in a country lane late at night while I'm driving,
take me on board their beautiful ship, show me the world as I long to see it.
I'd tell all my friends but they'd never believe me.
They'd think I'd finally lost it completely.
I'd show them the stars and the meaning of life;
they'd shut me away, but I'd be all right.
I'm just uptight, uptight, uptight, uptight.
(You really need to hear the song to fully appreciate it, though. The music is at least as evocative as the lyrics, very bright and colorful, yet haunting.)
Cracking Up - Nick Lowe
Alright - Electric Light Orchestra
A Man I'll Never Be - Boston
Carry On Wayward Son - Kansas
The Other Side Of Me - Donny Osmond
About A Girl - Cibo Matto
Emilie Autumn-Swallow
Oooh, Emilie Autumn is one of my favorite artists.
Right now, though, the song that best fits my life would be Weather Channel by Sheryl Crow:
Sunny morning
you can hear it
siren's warning
there is weather on both sides
I know it's coming.
Just like before
there's a black dog that
scratches my door
he's been growlin' my name, sayin'
you better get you runnin'.
Can you make it
better for me?
Can you make me see the light of day?
'Cause I got no one
who will bring me a
big umbrella
So I'm watching the weather channel
and waiting for the storm.
It's just sugar
just a pill to make me happy
and though it may not fix the hinges
but at least the door has stopped it's creaking.
I've got friends there
waiting for me to comb out my hair
come outside and join the human race
but I don't feel so human.
Can you make it
better for me?
Can you make me see the light of day?
'Cause I got lab coats
Who will bring me a panacea
While I'm watching the weather channel
And waiting for the storm.
You won't want me
hangin' round the birthday pony
Even though it's just a game
you know we are the same
but you're the better faker.
"Non-Phenomenal Lineage" -Grandaddy
"Red Rain" -Peter Gabriel
"The Getaway" -Chris DeBurgh
"Coming Back to Life" -Pink Floyd
And also "Through Your Hands," John Hiatt and/or John Baez depending on where you hear it
Because I'm not much of a morning person, "Face The Day" by The Angels is probably suitable.
