Excellent idea, I can see the Aspie Zionist movement happening, but I wonder how much land we could buy, and do you mean buy as in purchase from a real estate company, or buy as in purchase land from the government with which to form a separate national entity? In either case there is only so much land you can buy, depending on the cash availible, and if you want to form a natiom state, then you have to set up a whole new governing entity. You could try simply encouraging Aspies to move to one area, whihc would then be known as Aspie land, while stil being part of an existing nation (sort of like the Native American reservations, but without legal sanction, or like the Paisa community of Colombia).
And if you take the guy-land approach, you have the problem of what to do with NT progeny of AS parents. Do you give them full citizenship? Do you kick them out? Do you make them second class citizens? The debate on that one topic alone could last for decades! This seems like an excellent ides, but IT MUST BE THOROUGHLY PLANNED OUT BEFOREHAND.
I personally find the idea of a new sub-group to be appealling. Im in the mood to advocate something realy outside the box (i.e. ridiculous), like isolating ourselves completely, until we can no longer breed with normal humans and become a new species: Homo Autistus. It could work... yeah right... but its a fun idea nonetheless

I'm just ranting a bit about the fact that i seem to habe noticed a numebr of discussions in these forums that mirror each other very closely, themes that seem to repeat very often and to little point. For example, the 'homeland' theme i have seen in maybe 4 or 5 places so far, the hate/don't hate NTs theme is another one, I just think that its kind of odd that we seem to be repeating ourselves so much... not to say that there isnt a great deal of original content being generated constantly, just that the repeated themes are an interesting phenomenon.
Before I probably got little wierd, I just needed sugar.

Your opinions can be insulting, if you want to learn, its not a good idea to go to a place and insult the people you want to learn from, it doesnt help anyone.

If you wish to represent NTs on the site and give opposing views, there is an area for NTs, in the NT/AS interaction forum in the General section. You can start your own thread there if you like and ask any pertinent questions you wish to have answered.

I agree that the medical field in general do view autism as a negative thing. But you People seem to think that NT's are "The Enemy" or something. That's not the case. I for one, have no problem with autism or ADD or anything like that. My mom works with mentally disabled adults so i have personal experience with it. I don't have much experience, however, with this type of autism, I really wish someone would contact me and enlighten me on this. I have so far, only gotten to talk to one aspie, so if anyone cares to talk to me about it, I'd love to listen. Unfortunatly i have to get offline soon, but I will be back later today to continue posting.

Buying a piece of land and building is much more practical than the island idea, though its a nice dream.
I think you would need to establish a group first, of at least 10 people, who were in the same country and willing to move to the same area, and establishing a co-operative.
Once land was bought, and building houses, or using what was there, (TheASman has seen "ghost towns" with properties, where land is fairly cheap, in the US), and people moved in, then more people could be advertsied for to join.
If this happened in one place per major country, havens could become established.
I say per country as I doubt if many people would be able/willing to emigrate, its more realistic to expect people to move within their own country.

The suggestion was not merely to go to ghost towns per se. But find towns that recently had a couple thousand people but now have a few hundred. There are a number of advantages such have basic services such electricity and phone available. Also when jews started to move to palestine, there people already there. as emigration, I think there is one member who would benefit leaving their country once the children are returned. And amy most importantly, this stuff is not ready for public consumption. I have more ideas but they will remain non public
