Hi - I'm new here, so short introduction. I work in information provision for parents of children with additional support needs. I'm NT, pro-neurodiversity, acceptance etc.

A professional has asked me to find some resources for parents who have ASD - some of them have children who have an ASD, some NT. I've seen the articles linked from the Neurodiversity site. I think what I'm looking for is something that covers possible parenting pitfalls from an ASD perspective.

This isn't an "ASD parent = terrible parent" question - I've seen the 'Aspar' site and it made me feel a bit sick really, all that hate in one place. It's more that there may be different challenges for people with ASDs as parents than NTs, and a guidebook would be useful.

Sorry if this is a bit confused!
I don't understand your post really. Are you looking for aspie's that are parents, and resources for them?

Not that I really have any, but I'd like some! I'm and aspie and have two daughters. Smile My oldest is super social and goes out of her way to introduce me to people. (kinda funny actually.) I'd be interested in resources too...
Well if you could find resources and all for parents on the spectrum themselves, I would love to see it and all. I have Aspergers and ADHD and also have one son officially dx'd with Autism and another that we're sure is not completely non-autistic.
Yes - aspies that are parents, and resources for them.

I expected there to be at least some - while I've no idea how good they are I've seen stuff on relationships/marriages specifically aimed at aspies. And at least some relationships end up with children, so I was sort of surprised not to find any.
I've just found "Asperger Syndrome and Adults... Is Anyone Listening?: Essays and Poems by Spouses, Partners, and Parents of Adults with Asperger Syndrome", ISBN: 1843107511, US $ 18,95/14,79 EUR and I find it helpful considering the fact that there are some texts written by NT children of AS parents. I just begin to understand my elder son's (13, NT) feelings …

But … the book points to the site http://www.faaas.org which is considered one-sided here, here and here.

My intense interest is books so I've read it. Period.
