Iron Maiden - Different World. From the new album, A Matter Of Life And Death.

I've still not heard that yet, I downloaded the single. Perhaps when I want to wake my neighbours up eh?

I've got the Manson cover of Down in the Park. It's what got me into Gary Numan in the first place.

It's an interesting starting place! Have you come accross the Random album, its a double cd of Numan covers some really great, some not so great but it's quite an interesting selection of artists.

Megadeth: She-Wolf

Can't wait for the new album.

I did not even know Megadeth were still going but i don't read Kerrang and Metal Hammer anymore, or very rarely. I was quite impressed with the last Slayer album though, I have never been into thrash but something about Slayer, the extremity of it all is fantastic. I remember seeing them live, the g/f at the time hated them but still went with me, bless her!

Gary Numan - Stories

"All the things I could say are the reasons I can't"

Very, very apt.

Wonderful song

I tried showing my friend Amy the song, but she said she didn't like it after the part at 0:53 started. I told ther that Numb actually takes it easy for metal, and The Game is even more mild.

She might not like metal because of that Slipknot crap eating too much glory. I used to not like metal myself until I discovered GOOD metal.

I once had a dream about Disturbed.... best leave it at that lol

I did like the first Disturbed album but after that it went a bit downhill, they did bring something new to the  numetal scene at the time and they have had a very rough time in the uk rock/metal press, even to the point that David Draiman threatened to go to the offices of Kerrang! magazine and punch the writers who had been writing bad reviews of them.

If you like Disturbed for the combination of metal and electronics you will like Static X and also Spineshank and probably some Fear Factory stuff as well. Metal is good but introducing something else into it enhances it even more.

I managed to get hold of Gary NUman - The Plan, it's an album of really early tracks from 1977/78, very punk as opposed to the electronic stuff he is known for.
Rammstein - Zwitter, great song and a weird and wonderful translation.

Type O - class band. *** Kisses is a fantasticly dark album
At the moments it's flitting between :

EMF - Unbelievable. "You burden me with your questions. Youd have me tell no lies. Youre always asking what its all about but dont listen to my replies.
You say to me I dont talk enough but when I do Im a fool. These times Ive spent, Ive realized
Im going to shoot through and leave you"

Duran Duran - Ordinary World. "And as I try to make my way, to the ordinary world...
I will learn to survive"

Disturbed - Shout. "Shout, shout, let it all out, these are the things I can do without"

Placebo - English Summer Rain. "I'm in the basement. You're in the sky. I'm in the basement baby. Drop on by"

Nine Inch Nails - Only. "Less concerned. About fitting into the world. Your world that is"

A-ha - The sun always shines on tv. "I reached inside myself. And found nothing there. To ease the pressure off my ever worried mind"

The Cranberries - No Need To Argue. "Youll always be special to me. Will I forget in time? You said I was on your mind. Theres no need to argue. No need to argue anymore"
Only they could come up with a song called An Ode to Locksmiths.
VNV Nation - Holding On

"I thought the future held
a perfect place for us
That together we would learn to be
the best that we could be
In my naivety I ran
I fell and lost my way
Somehow I always end up falling over me

And one day
I woke to find
The future had no place
for me
I was unwanted in a world
that with my hands I helped build
Where once was honesty and pride
I now stand broken and alone
Just a shadow
of what I was meant to be

They say that "Time will heal"
"The truth shall set us free"
Well that depends
on what it is
that you choose to believe
In this prison made of lies
We see what it is we want to see
And find comfort in this
broken hall of dreams

Does anybody feel
the way I do?
Is there anybody out there?
Are you hearing me?

I believe in you
Will you believe in me?
Or am I alone
in this hall of dreams?

I believe in you
You believe in me
But I have no trust
in anything
Somehow I'm always
always falling over me"
Mika - Relax, Take It Easy

"Took a right to the end of the line
Where no one ever goes.
Ended up on a broken train with nobody I know.
But the pain and the longings the same.
Where the dying
Now I'm lost and I'm screaming for help.

Relax, take it easy
For there is nothing that we can do.
Relax, take it easy
Blame it on me or blame it on you.

It's as if I'm scared.
It's as if I'm terrified.
It's as if I scared.
It's as if I'm playing with fire.
Scared.
It's as if I'm terrified.
Are you scared?
Are we playing with fire?

Relax
There is an answer to the darkest times.
It's clear we don't understand but the last thing on my mind
Is to leave you.
I believe that we're in this together.
Don't scream, there are so many roads left."

Totally brilliant song, from someone who is touted as about as cheesy pop as they come in response to the July 7 bombings in London. Absolutely fantastic.
