St. Anger is one of Metallica's worst albums. All of their 1980's albums are far superior.

Listening to Suffocation - The Invoking.

Quote:
i've never heard st. anger, and i've only heard maybe 2 songs from load. everything after the black album is trash. even the black album has its lame moments.

Couldn't agree more.

Listening to Satyricon - The Rite Of Our Cross

Tomahawk - Birdsong
Shadows Fall - In Effigy
Tom Waits - Puttin' On The Dog

Quote:
yay to Tom Waits.

The man who single handedly kept jack daniels in business!

Big Grin

I got his new CD set, Orphans: Brawlers, Bawlers and Bastards yesterday and I love it. The first disc is my favourite and Road To Peace is the best song. Definitely one of my favourites of 2006.

Glad to see so many people appreciate metal.

Lamb Of God - Laid To Rest. Anyone else like this band?
"Romancing The Stone" - Eddy Grant.
Billy Connolly: Live in Auckland New Zealand.
"Ah Leah" - Donnie Iris.
Tomorrow I'm going to be listening to local band Dr Butler's Hatstand Medicine Band on the Folk Train, a monthly event where different bands hop on a train from one city to a rural town, they play on the train, play a short set at a pub at the end of the line, and then everyone catches the train home again.

It's going to be my first time on the Folk Train although friends who've been on it before say it's good, plus I'll be enjoying a band I've already seen before and really like.

Smile
"Echoes" - Pink Floyd.
"Hideaway" - The Beat Farmers. They sound like Southern US Rockers, perhaps a bit less rockier than ZZ Top but this is about the best song of theirs I have come across so far.
"I'm Burning For You" - Blue Oyster Cult. Their best known song is probably "Don't Fear The Reaper" but they had a lot of other good tracks. I guess they could be best described as a progressive rock band.
"Daylight" - Bobby Womack.
