In that case Louise do you think that you would be worth less if, (for example ),you had an accident and could not work for some time, than you are worth when you are working ? :?

Or what would happen if you were in a coma for years? Would that mean you were of no worth to society? It's a concept that you need to be careful with.

I can't believe this arguement is still going on.

M, it was never resolved and besides, this is a slightly different version.

Maybe now that Droopy has been banned, people will stop arguing with Louise18 or she will get banned too.
It is not like people have much choice in the matter of what co-morbids they get along with their autism genes or whether they are going to be "high functioning or low functioning autistics." So this is just basically a useless argument.
As well, I can choose to look for work that I am qualified and capable of doing but they will not guarantee that I will be hired at all. That is the employer's choice or prejudice.
"Change what you can change and accept what you can not change."
If people want to argue about eugenics and how they consider some people of no value whatsoever, they can start up their own thread topic about it. I wish people would stop hijacking threads for their own purposes.

M - Droopy was banned for her hostile behaviour, NOT FOR BEING LFA AS PEOPLE KEEP ON SAYING.
Please drop the FUD.

Here is a concept. What low functioning autistic people and high functioning people deal with whilst in some ways is similar is in other ways different. It is not easily quantifiable or qualitive. OK the perseptions and traits are similar (with differing levels of severity) but the way the individual will internalise or cope with these difficulties is completely different, as is societal expectations. It may be like saying "Is it worse to be blind or mute?"
Personally I think that HFA people can at least have occasional "wins" that are comparable to NT's and all the boosts and what not to the confidence that goes along with it. This has to rank as a definate plus.

Thanks for the info, but is there a more recently updated website? All the info on thier website "ani.autistics.org/autreat" is terribly out of date.I found an autreat group at yahoo groups but nobody is saying any SOLID information.I don't want to shell out 300 or more dollars+travel expenses just to find out it's a scam.
I also responded to your announcement on "Aspergian Island" and "Wrongplanet"

There is no recently updated website, but there should be plenty of information posted on the autreatinfo@yahoogroups.com group within the next few months. The website should also be updated within the next few months.
