I have only recently discovered that i have A.S. , and i am sad at the way some NTs seem to view people with autism.( For e.g; some folk have told me that they thought that people with autism are: selfish, unloving, & uncaring. )

And that's it's greatest irony.
It's an all too common statement "They're so self centered, they never do things for me, never think about me, never go out of their way for me"; who's the self centered one again?
i think there are autistic styles of self-centredness and nt-styles of self-centredness. all humans get that way. just different flavor.

Hahaha! PWNED.
I noticed that when I eat candy in front of people, once I finish the bag, someobdy looks at me and says, "Well, why didn't you give me any? You selfish bitch."
My reply is, "You never asked for any."
Yeah, well that's right. If they wanted some, they could always have asked. I now ask anyone in the vicinity if they want some of my chips and lollies but it feels kind of forced and I usually get them and eat them somewhere on my own to avoid the awkward situation.
I don't mind if my daughters help themselves to some of my food but these days, they usually ask first.
I'm in the library now and I was wondering if anybody could suggest any books on AS? Because I might as well check them out while I am here, or while I am here in the future.
Hmm It has done it again.
Anyway I took out
Aspergers Syndrome: A guide for parents and professionals by Tony Attwood and Freaks, Geeks & Aspergers Syndrome: A user guide to adolescence by Luke Jackson.
Since I am not any of those things I don't know how good they will be but I am sure they will provide some interesting light reading.
