Firstly, I really like the new forums, and I now think MyBB is better than phpBB. But I have noticed that there is no Edit facility. Is this a feature missing from the software, or has it just not been activated by the admins?
I'm just wondering because sometimes if I make a typo in a post, I like to go back and fix it.
However, I do think the new boards are much better.
It has been deactivated on purpose - we have had people go back and edit their old posts to remove them when in a mood. If you require a post editing, click report or PM myself or one of the other mods (reporting is preferred).
Oh I see.

But I won't go asking for all my typos to be corrected - I guess that would get rather tedious for the mods after a while!
I'd have to agree with Sparkle. Lots of people like to find and fix their own typos (like myself)
Also, you can make more fatal mistakes in a post, such as confusing one person for another, and you may want to change that back so people won't get confused.
Also, one may want to add updates to the first post of their thread. The edit button is needed for this.
And also, (I use that word too much) I don't think the mods and admins may want to have to answer a million PMs asking for post edits, so activating the edit button may be more practical, even if it means people will go back and delete their own posts, which I don't even see happen often.
Not that I know anything about this sort of thing but wouldn't it be alot easier for the moderators just to revert the posts that have been deleted or completly messed with?

Possibly.
Wikipedia keeps records of the edits each article gets by article, so it would be safe to assume that forums do too.
I think a good idea would be to have a post be editable up until the point some one responds. After somebody responds editing that post should be disallowed.
It is shameful that it has come to this.
Another good reason for an edit button would be for when the topics merge.
The posts before the real first post could then be changed to reflect the mood of the topic or deleted outright.

I Agree So Far I Just Have Been Adding Another Post After One To Correct
