It appears that the person you are dealing with has a warpped sense of reality -- MAJOR warpped sense of reality -- basing opinions on emotion rather than science, specifically when "Wonder" says:
"THIMEROSAL/MERCURY DOES CAUSE AUTISM AND NEUROLOGICAL DISORDERS"
It would be interesting to see his/her response if asked to cite peer reviewed articles regarding this claim.

It drives me batty that this kind of misinformation is being perpetuated everywhere, and I'm really not sure what we can do except post rebuttals -- maybe not for the sake of those who have closed off their brains completely, but for the sake of people who wander by and happen to read the thread without really knowing much about autism at all.
I agree. People wandering past are sure to notice that Wonder has not answered any of Gareth's questions, gives no support for her reasoning, and basically refuses to concede any of his points. At least she kept a civil tongue in her head. A lot of discussions with curebies basically dissolve into one-sided rants, and the only good thing about them is that they make curebies look silly to any rational person.

Rather a frightening comparison to make, especially considering that if CAN gets their way we'll be in a position very similar to that of jews in WWII.
What don't they get about us not wanting a cure. I like the way I am! I feel, I have emotions, I am perfectly capable of a relationship. Your cure for autism if anything like your cure for adhd will serve the purpose of making you more comfortable being around me and that purpose only, while I am misserable!!!
