"Oh I see" sighed Mogelfat. He stood there for a moment, shook his head to collect his thoughts and then snarled "Call yourself a coffee shop? You're a poor excuse for a coffee shop!".
"I've got news for you buster and it's all bad!" - shot back the owner even more gruffly than before.
"Hey, what do you think you're doing, get back into bed!" yelled a grumpy sounding man "We like our mess just fine!".

"Aw, don't cry", soothed another of the little men "Don't listen to him, he's always Grumpy".

"Now, now, let's all calm ourselves down" rumbled another little man.
Gradually, through the fog, she saw the headlights of an oncoming car. Coming up closer, it stopped and a strangely familiar voice said "climb in, sweetheart". She pondered for a moment whether it was really wise to get into a car with a stranger, even if his voice did sound kind of familiar.
Still, she was tired, fed up, and hungry and said to herself "might as well".
