Hello

My name is Alice. I have a 3 1/2 year old daughter (Vera) with autism. I also have a 1 1/2 year old son (Emery).

My daughter is nonverbal and has a classic autism diagnosis.

She is in special education 4 days a week and in a speech program at the University of Michigan.

I just wanted to introduce myself. I am happy to have found a website that promotes acceptance. I want to help my daughter to do whatever she can but I would never want to change her. She is absolutely wonderful...autism included.    :grin:

My son is light Aspergers.  He was given a school use diagnosis at 7.  He is now 9 and in the fourth grade.  Certain things are a challenge for him, but, overall, just knowing there is an explanation for how he thinks and what he needs has helped us a lot.  I realize the challenges we face are far smaller than yours, but sometimes seeing the tip of the iceberg can give some information about the rest of it.
