Legalese - The colluqial term for the complex jargon used in legal paperwork such as large contracts.

I fail to find any legalese on CAN's site except in the relevant legal sections. Not that I am defending them in any way, but I find their site quite easy to understand.

CAN's operation can be summed up as follows:
Raise money
Give money to research programmes

One of the main research programmes is AGRE - the Autism Genetic Resource Exchange. Gathering DNA samples in the hopes of developing a prenatal test. We have had contact from them on this issue which states the goal isn't developing a prenatal test, and then later seen them funding the baylor college of medicine's prenatal test.

You would be surprised how legal professionals use impressive sounding language that says nothing. One example of the flabby minded destitution of logiocal discipline in law is the prohibition against cruel and unusual punishment. Such a law suffers two contradictions. First, all punishment is cruel. It inflicts distress to deter what a law prohibits. Prohibition against punishment is what is said here. But if punishment is prohibited, than there is no penalty to demand obedience of any "law" and a law against cruel punishment is a law against law itself. The second contradiction is that no punishment is unusual once it begins because it becomes usual so it cannot be prohibited.
     But lawyers and judges often use mathematical language with no concept of the mathematical terms they are using. In preparation to testify in court a lawyer asked me what made some basis valid. The correct answer in most undergraduate texts on vectors or linear algebra is that all vectors (and there has to be at least two of them) must be linearly independent. But this had nothing to do with the charges that were filed against me and I asked what linear algebra had to do with it. The lawyer arrainged for me not to testify because he feared that some jurors and the judge would be embarassed upon having been caught trying to impress the less educated public through the bluffing misuse of impressive sounding mathematical terminology that simulates a precision of thought that is just not there. Happily I sailed through life in a greasy ship and slipped the grips of prosecution.

Why can't people with Asperger's speak for people with LFA when they know "the cure" for LFA is going to be the treatment of abortion or maybe worse?  

I hope that more people with LFA learn to keyboard and start telling people that they are not suffering from their autism.  No one wants to listen to people with Asperger's.  

The war on autism:  It's divide and conquer (or just destroy).  Separate the Asperger's from the HFA and the LFA.  Discredit the people with Asperger's.  Put the parents and families on one side and the kids in the middle.  Give all the money to scientists and pharmaceutical companies.  Start killing off the next generation.  Torture the living children and marginalize the adults.

the treatment or "cure" for autism sought is more to make autistics conform to standards of behaviour than to develop efficient communication skills.  It has to be accepted that some autistics may never be able to communicate efficiently.  Those people, they would like to exterminate.

They were asked to quit playing it because it was torturing her. They continued and the law supported them with their refusal to make them stop. That proves to my satisfaction that they were doing it out of spite as those kinds of people always do to show who is boss. There is no limit to what bad people will do when they feel safe about getting away with it. They were obviously offended that someone did not like their music which they had made the centre of their identity so they when they discovered that society would tolerate it they committed a hate crime against her.

So what does all this have to do with CAN?

The idea behind CAN seems to be to mold everyone to conform to what is most convenient to the collective even at the expense of the dignity of the individual. Cultural norms, e.g. our recreational choices, how we speak, whether and if so, what recreational drugs we take (which include such opium for the masses as professional sports and teen pop music) the literature we read, and the music with which we choose to live. CAN aspires to eliminate the non conformity about the autism spectrum so that everybody will get along perfectly with society. Everybody in the brave new utopia will fall obdeiently into their place as assigned to them by their economic and social power. Those at the bottom will sit before their football games on television and drink their beer until they are too drunk to make any trouble. Everyone will all like the music assigned to them so that they will be well standardized non thinking obedient consumers. In short, everyone will be spectacularly normal. Then therer will be no more Mozart, no more Shakespeare, no more greater works of archecture than trailer parks, no more mathematicians who might think too critically to get along with the fascism of totalitarian democracy telling us all every minuscule detail of what to think, what to feel, how to live a nice normal life that for some of us is not worth living.
     Worst of all, those who tell us how to live will be the strongest bullies on the block and these bullies are the least qualified to tell us anything about how we should live. That is why I vow to overthrow any tyrant who tries to tell me what colour to paint mu house, what I must wear, that I must discourse in pepsi generation pop slang, and what music I must live with. CAN seems to reflect a desire to make us conform unconditionally and that is what makes society so dangerous and often predatory.

Why do people think that if we could conform and talk to people more than our lives would improve?

I am not certain that they really believe or intend that our lives would improve because they would forgive past eccentricities. But they would promise improvements that they would never deliver if only we would knuckle under and bend to their will.
     What they would demand would either be dirty, like submitting to their cigarette smoke or it would be some humiliating submission to a worthless decency simulating superstition such as wearing that swim suit even in our own back yard pond.

About the music thing - if the law stated they are able to play their music until 11pm then that's all fair game. Of course once the woman had been sick if they continued knowingly then there would be cause for her to seek damages by treating it as assault. I seriously doubt they played it just "to show who's boss". People enjoy loud music and don't care when others don't share their taste. It's that simple. There's been times i've been guilty of playing loud music and had to turn it down for the sake of others who don't share my tastes, these days I tend to use earphones. "Hate crime" has a very specific definition - it is a crime motivated by extreme prejudice towards a minority group (racist or sexist attacks or attacks based upon religious belief etc). It is not hate crime to simply annoy someone or even to make them very ill. The simple solution if you are suffering from loud noise pollution in an area where it is legal at unreasonable times is to move to a different area. Here I believe the rule is 8pm for loud music (this is a condition of the tenancy agreement of the council houses on the estate where I live, I am unsure of what the precise figures given by law are). Retaliating in this kind of situation is both childish and immature and a rather counterproductive idea. Your other option of course besides moving is to campaign to change the law. You may be able to get some support if other people in the area are unhappy (I agree that 11pm is way too late to be reasonable). Responding by jamming the radio frequencies could land you in serious trouble, especially if you use the microwave band to do this (if you are somehow reverse engineering your microwave to emit radiation aimed at your neighbours and having any kind of success then you are causing serious harm to both yourself and your neighbours which may only manifest in years to come in the form of cancer). Besides the health risks, you also face criminal charges for jamming radio transmissions. Put your health and freedom first. If you can't change the law, move or put up with it. Don't stay there and respond in ways that will land you in jail just over some loud music. The court was right to dismiss your case if you were complaining about something that is perfectly legal, however rest assured that as defendant your case probably won't be dismissed so quickly.

Back to the topic of the thread:
Many NT parents (or aspie parents in denial even) quite simply do not like what they perceive as different and what the media scare stories have told them is not merely different but a horrible disease. This is the root cause of the problem with curebie parents. They do not want their children to be "weird" or "diseased". I do not blame parents for their ignorance unless it is willful (i.e after they are shown the truth and still put their own children through chelation or ABA). I do blame the people in organisations such as CAN and autism speaks for doing their best to create a negative image of autism in the media and trying to throw autism in along with cancer and other diseases. The pattern of fundraising seen where celebrities and big media campaigns are used is a perfect reflection of other big charities where several people believe in a "good cause" due to being told about it in the media. The BBC's children in need comes to mind as an example of a charity that has a massive advertising budget. The difference is that with other charities the cause is at least good (mostly - but that's off-topic). In autism charities they have to first build up the negative image to get a sympathy response in the public. Starving children in africa, AIDS victims, cancer victims, child abuse victims etc all create almost automatic sympathy in many (as played on in fundraising adverts) and take very little work to raise money for. When creating a disease and an epidemic (to get the panic factor in) skillful PR management is required (to the tune of over $700,000USD spent on hiring an external PR agency by CAN back in 2005). This has been confessed in private by representatives of CAN many times.

CAN are not so bad compared to autism speaks however. I am still rather angered at being lied to in person by the founder of the UK branch of autism speaks at the protest last year in windsor. For the camera she put on a nice image and said that they were raising money to fund services for autistics yet I could not pin her down on this. When pressed, she informed me that I could contact her later. Upon contacting her later via email I still have not been able to get her pinned down on this issue, though she did show me the list of grants given. ALL OF THEM WERE AIMED AT GENETIC RESEARCH OR ABA METHODS. The video "Autism every day" is another skillful bit of PR work which is nothing short of hate speech. In it, the founder of autism speaks speaks about wanting to murder her autistic daughter and not doing so only because of her other NT child. She talks about this with her daughter in the room. After this video was released, an actual murder/suicide did take place in a similar way to what was described. Other child murders have occurred since then and have RECEIVED SYMPATHY in the media. The recent trend towards treating autistic offenders as crazed and violent due to "their condition" can also be traced back to this same type of PR. By creating a nightmarish image for parents of newly diagnosed children, they create a panic response in the parents and sympathy from others.

What angers me most though is that nobody can see the obvious - every currently living autistic who does not submit to the pro-cure views and wish to become an NT has a target on them. Not on their head (they could not get away with that, though it most likely will occur), but on their geneline. On all of our unborn children and future generations there is a massive red target painted. And if you are a minor yourself, you already have the target on your self esteem. If you are an adult, the target is also on your credibility and your rights.

I have made many large rants/motivational speeches like this before to try to make people see the danger that lies ahead in the next few decades. I hope this one gets through to someone. I have been lucky, my son was born despite the protests from various people and I have my freedom (despite my parents trying to have me declared incompetent). However, do not rely on luck for your own fate - or you may well find yourself stripped of your rights or dead.

There are many problems with moving every time trashy neighbors destroy the quality of life. First, most people do not have the money especially after they have paid for their home. It is almost impossible to sell a house in a neighborhood where there is unwanted music. The peoperty values go down to reflect the loss of quality of life in that neighborhood. This is what makes loud music a form of vandalism against private property. In effect, it says, "If you vandalize my home I will graciously submit to your vandalism and replace my home at a loss by mopving to another neighborhood where the same thing will happen all over again. The property values go up in the fewer and fewer places where people do not have to hear trashy music destroying their privacy. Because most people do not have the money, freedom from cultural tyranny of neighbors forcing their junk culture music down our throats is an elitist privilege reserved only for the few who have the money. Also, surrendering one's home and most of the equity that goes with it sets a precident that makes the bully who wants to force his music the first class citizen and whoever does not want to hear it a second class citizen who must bear the loss. Television commercials make heros out of thugs who abuse their neighbors by turning up their rape music (misspelled rap) to the utmost volume and gloat when the neighbors protest. The radio stations that play it tell their listeners to turn it all the way up. In short, they are engaged in a war against any nonconformist who does not want to suffer the fanaticism of being physically force fed what they do not want.
     I also know from experience that the kind of people who play their trash music at best constantly test how loud they can get away with playing it and at worst they laugh at anyone who complains about it. In short, they have absolutely no conscience. It will never be possible to campaign to the legislators and to the public because the public does not care and lobbiests from the junk culture industry have too much control over the masses for us to compete with their brainwashing.
     I do not have the money to buy land by the square mile and I own a unique kind of house that I would defend to the death if I had to because it is the only kind of house I want to live in and it is impossible for me to last in an apartment or trailer park without eventually ending up like Columbine. I just can't do it. I can't live with their so called music.
     Some might call me a terrorist because I use force to keep neighbors from bullying me with their fanaticism that I should adjust to their music contaminating my home. But I think of a lady in South Africa who invented an appliance that women can wear that will slice up and tear any rapist who penetrates her. Some call her a terrorist because in some places her system of self cefense is against some law, but her costumers do not care because they would rather be executed than live with AIDS the way I would rather be put to sleep than live with no place to live to get away from their ugly music. This is a freedom worth dieing for.
     Fortunately I do not have to fire up the magnetrons because the neighbors are afraid of invisible microwaves and the county inspector and the police told them they can do nothing about my being able to do it. That is the only thing I have to keep life of sufficent quality to be worth living. I will never accept society telling me that I have to learn to live with any neighbor's music. If society decides that I have to be eliminated for failing to knuckle under so be it.

CAN does not have their 2006 financial reports posted up yet so I can't see what they have been up to.
