my mom got my son a "baby einstein" cd yesterday which led me to think about how it has been proposed that old albert was an aspie. which led me to think they should change the name of the baby einstien series to "baby autism"!!

lol... Something makes me think the CD wouldn't sell so well
Both of my kids watched the Baby Einstein DVDs when they were babies  I think they liked Baby Mozart best, though I think it may have been because they found it so funny that Id zone in on it more than they did (their laughter suggested it, anyways  )
I heard somewhere about the baby bumblebee movies being really good for autistic children. I found vocab builders 1 & 2 on VHS on ebay for about 8-12 dollars and figured I'd give it a try... but after the first few minutes he loses interest.
Luckily for me, we borrowed a bunch of movies from our neighbor who has a 3 year old (NT? he's not on the spectrum) anyhow and one of those was "Baby Einstein's wordsworth: Words around the house" video.
THAT was the stepping stone we needed to get Kevin (4 ASD) from 2 words in his vocab. to 60+ We also bought him the Davinci Body parts movie to help him learn body parts. Since watching it, he has found an interest in drawing and can draw some VERY good faces!
If I could I'd buy ALL of thier video's! We do have mozart and van gogh which strangely enough I had gotten somehow when he was an itty bitty baby... he still loves them.
I think the baby Einstein series is great for any kid. My son was diagnosed with PDD-NOS and is 2 1/2. He has a speech delay and has been in therapy for 6 months. Baby Einstein actually got him to want to talk. It shows objects in different contexts and it is very litteral. So it helps with kids with ASD's.
Good Luck.
