Remember when schizophrenics were routinely demonized, and whenever someone did something horrible, the press immediately leaped upon any claim of schizophrenia?

The man was 62 years old. He was previously living with his parents and when they died he probably needed some assisted living arrangement. So maybe he never learned to live independently. He might not have been capable of living on his own having never learned certain skills. He was frustrated that he was not getting help. He probably did not have any friends or support system. I think of myself being in a similar situation if my husband died and noone in my family would help me.
