I'm so out of the loop. I don't even know what this is about but someone on a list forwarded it to me.
"Hi, just to let everyone know, the Ghostwhisperer episode on Friday, October 13 will be about autism (CBS, 8pm/ 7 central time, check your TV guide!). Dr. Laurie Stephens of the HELP group was the script consultant, and I was also on the set because many of the extras in the final scene are people with ASD and family members, including my adult son.
We are hoping the show has a positive effect raising awareness about autism and portrays people with autism sensitively, but there is no way to know what scenes and material made the final cut! Jennifer Love Hewitt was absolutely charming and socialized with my son between takes, including posing for pictures with him and introducing us to her boyfriend.
Tune in, and if you like it, give CBS and Ghostwhisperer some positive reinforcement for their effort.
