Starfall
I love you such
that the entirety of my being
gravitates to yours.
but is not gravity a mutual attraction?
For what else would hold the stars together?
Yet you fill me with such sparkling
that it is as though the stars themselves
inhabit my soul.
Are you not the moon and I the sun?
Why, then, is it I longing to radiate
your light?
While I may live amongst stars,
their light is far and strange,
giving no comfort.
It seems that only in winter
do the sun and moon share the sky,
but in cold darkness I dwell
pulling the tides
as I await the fall of winter
across the world I brave.
