THERE ARE 6 -- no joke.
READ IT AGAIN !
Really, go Back and Try to find the 6 F's before you scroll down.
The reasoning behind is further down.

The brain cannot process "OF".
Incredible or what? Go back and look again!!
Anyone who counts all 6 "F's" on the first go is a genius.
Three is normal, four is quite rare.

I counted 5 'F's' at first, and I'm still a bit sleepy right now
These kind of things always manage to make me feel cross-eyed. o.0
People who count the letters accurately are more systematic - they see the letters instead of the words. Most people's brains skip over the f in of. Personally, I normally score a 5 on this particular test.
I'm confused: I read six "f"s. I'm certainly not a genius, so why wouldn't everybody do the same? That's the number there were. How come some people can't see the "f" in "of"?

if you read it as a word, rather then individual letters, mabey you think of the Fs in "of" as Vs since it sounds more like that...

If you do as the test asks and actually count individual letters then you work in a more systematic manner.

I'm one of those who misses the extra F's.
While I'm looking for the F's, I'm also reading the words, and listening for the F sound.
And I did it 3 times, knowing there was a trick I was missing!
I think it's the listening for the sounds that throws me off track.
Just for the scientific information of those who wonder how in the world anyone could miss any of the F's.
I am so totally non-systemic is almost strange. I have an Aspie trait or two, but that is SO not one of them!
It's rather simple if you do as it says and count the F's - i.e look through each individual letter and everytime you see an F add 1 to your count.
I read the words AND counted Fs at the same time. I got 5.

I can't not read the words ... wierd, isn't it?
My son was tricked the first look but counted all 6 when he looked more carefully.
Speed reading it I skipped over the of's.
Then when I went back and comprehessive read it I saw the of's.
Proof that the word of is useless.

Maybe you are. I read 6 Fs too, and I've never won a game of Monopoly!
I got it but gee they are tricky, tricky, tricky.
