any input would be a great help to my self-diagnosis.

I have numerous aspergian traits but I am wondering if the following problem is one, as I am worried that it may happen to everyone and I am just taking it out of proportion, or that maybe its just me.

I despise Flourescent lights. I have noticed more and more recently that they flicker incesantly. This is affecting me so much recently that I rarely go to any shops anymore as it gives me a headache, yet other people seem not to notice it.
The light thing seems very common, it's to do with our sensory sensitivities.
I hate turning on my lights during the daytime, whether they are fluorescent or not. I obtain enough natural light out of the windows, and there is no need to use artificial light. I don't like the mix between yellow light and natural daylight. To me, the purpose of artificial light is only to use it when it is dark enough that I can barely see bright colors.
Thanks for the replies!

as for me I try to avoid light as much as possible and so I try to keep it to the level where I can see enough to not bump into things.
I have no problem with lights.
I don't like bright light at all and will dim lighting if I get the chance.  Flourescent lights are hideous.  They don't cause me headaches, but they distract badly - and that dreadful hum they can make is worse still.
I also donīt like fluorescent lights or actually bright lights at all. I prefer natural light and dim light in the evening.
But the noise (that hum) is one factor too.
I don't like fluorescent lights either.  When my officemate is gone, I turn all the lights off.  Makes it easier to see what's on my monitor.  and flickering lights is REALLY annoying!
I'm a officially diagnosed Aspie, however, I don't have any problems with flourescent lights.  I guess I just don't have the specific property?

P.S. I do prefer dark, cloudy days over the days with the Sun.  I can't STAND the Sun!
Yes I also hate the sun. It is far too bright for my liking. In the day I generally stare at the ground when I am outside.
Yes, I find the sun and fluorescent lights hard to take. Strangely enough, the humming from the lights doesn't bother me - I find it kind of reassuring despite having quite severe sensory issues with some other kinds of noise. I do find it really aggravating when a light is on its way out and it starts flickering.

The lights where I work are a lot brighter than I'd prefer but other people probably like them that bright so there isn't much of an easy solution except to put dimmer tubes in the ones directly above where I'm sitting, especially the one directly over the computer, which is the worst ever.
I hate pure white light, and the sun.

I remember the days when the light given by lightbulbs were a slightly golden, creamy colour, and how it looked yellowish tan. I miss those lights.

Flickering doesn't actually bother me, even though I do notice it and I was very quick to notice that the old lightsabers in Star Wars flickered more than the new ones.
