I wasn't advocating kicking off a nuerological holy war, I mean some NTs are good people, I'm not a hypocrite. I just believe we're evolving, for myriads of reasons, but yeah I agree, we will need some NT supports. All civil rights movements have at some point relied on the outsiders, the non-oppressed, to advocate for them in a prejudice society. So no, I'm not opposed to NTs helping out, just so long as they are pro acceptance and not pro cure.
Like I said, excuse my french here but if we're gonna do anything we damn do it behind a damn computer desk. This apathy is debilitating, many of aspie issues could be solved if we became noticed enough to draw enough support to open aspie schools, aspie colledges, aspie neighborhoods where we can live amoung ourselves away from social prejudices, but to do all this we need to act. And that's more than signing a stupid petition online which isn't gonna get us anywhere, activism needs to be aggressive, in-their-face. Otherwise people aren't gonna listen, society is wayyy to set in it's ways and hell bent on bias to even listen with an open mind, until we make some noise.
The way I see it, your either part of the solution or your part of the problem. Because, apathy amoung our own is holding us back equally as much as this narrow-minded and racist atmosphere against us is.
AD(H)D is just something psychiatrists and pharmecueitical companies made up to sale pills. It's not a real condition. What happens is (usually wealthy) parents to to a counselor complaining "my kid is too hyper, we need a pill to put him/her on" or something to that effect, so they create false disorders like AD(H)D so they can prescribe them a pill, which in turn makes money for the psychiatric institution and the pharmecuetical companies.
The kid is somewhat brainwashed into thinking they are disabled, and sometimes (not all the time) they'll go around with this attitude like "pity me I'm disabled, I have AD(H)D", but there is nothing holding them back from living a normal life. In fact people with AD(H)D are overlooked as being disabled and can live at the top of the social and political heirarchies. Most of them don't even collect a check if theyr diagnosed.
A great reffrerence is Rush (even though i hate that band because the dude's voice gives me a headache)

Like I said, besides being alittle hyper active or having a hard time paying attention (which is not that much of a disorder), what do AD(H)D "patients" really have to go through? I mean, theyr not even collecting a disability check when theyr diagnosed. A simple pill can help them pay attention and calm down, and as long as theyr taking their pill they don't even have that. I consider it a slap in the face of us people who really struggle, who really have to push through life. A pill won't take our problems away.
The difference being, I can probably tell you tons of more modern presidents and high-status political leaders who are "AD(H)D", when is the last time you seen an aspie president or pope? I'm not trying to be a judgemental prick, I'm just calling it as I see it.
(note, though I have no problems with anyone's religion, I have my own that is atheist, but I made refference to the pope as an authority figure, not as a religious figure)
I read your link, I might reconsider what I said about AD(H)D, because it seems to be the same thing going on with asperger syndrome, a buttload of people who don't really have it are cliaming to have it, and it kills the credibility for those who do. All I've ever met was fakers then. If this is the case, my bad, I apologize.
If we sit here like a bunch of pussies and *** online and don't get out and do anything, aren't willing to make any personal sacrifices for our cause, then it will go nowhere, and we will proove the ignorant ones right, we're nothing more than whiney pissants. I know this isn't the case, so when are we aspies gonna grow some balls and step up to bat?
I figured this out when i read the Autfinity post, which is the exact same thing I suggested about a year or two ago and got laughed off. However I'm not angry about that, in fact I'm happy to see that aspies are actually working towards and making the neccessary sacrifices to making a better future for ourselves and our children.
I feel that by prooving we're capable of running and maintaining our own island, our own resort nation, we can atlast garner the respect we rightly deserve from the NT world. Then maybe we can integrate on a non-subordinate basis in other parts of the world. However, I still think Autfinity should always be for aspies/auties and our loved ones, because we need a place to call our own.
