Aspies For Freedom

Here's a question for you: When you play a real time strategy game, do you use the same strategy every time?

I do. I always play in an extremely methodical fashion, building up my forces slowly and maxing them out before I attack. Simple skirmish missions can take me hours to finish, but I never lose unless I'm overwhelmed at first.

Total Annihilation was the best for turtlers.
my defences could destroy an enemy force from half the map away,but there were aways waves of Nukes looming over you to keep you on your toes.

i loved the nukes on that.you could build as many as you liked,and launch as many at a time as you pleased.

if somebody had built up a stupidly powerful nuke defence grid,i would build 20-30 mininuke silos,and arm each with 20 mininukes.select them all and launch them all at the same target,as quickly as they would launch.watch as his defence silos draaained...then fire the big nukes. and hope he doesnt have a second base,or that his commander isnt hiding in some corner with a few construction subs building something...scary..

LOL I did pretty much the same thing, pika, regardless of the game I play. Build up as much as possible with massive defenses, then max out your armies and send them in. If the game had something like a huge nuke or endgame unit that you could use without threating your own units (and therefore losing resources), I always used them as much as possible.

The Total Annihilation nukes were great. In TA: kingdoms, I relied on the summonable dragons an awful lot.

When I was a kid (and not diagnosed), I thought the strategy I used said something about my cognitive processes, which was why I asked the question.

No! Sadly my copy was destroyed the last time I moved.

Still, LOL I can imagine what an aspie RTS tournament would be like in my head. LOL 10 games would last 2 weeks. Get your sleeping bags!
