Now, some people have said that because autlang is a constructed language, it will be super-easy to learn and so it would be useful to those who struggle with language.  So that's interesting...

That would probably depend on how it is constructed. What appears to make spoken languages complicated and unwieldy is their ad-hoc development. Something like Lojban seems to suit the stated purpose of Autlang wonderfully. Very few people speak it right now, but it's easy to understand and is mathematically proven unambiguous, which would certainly make discussions in it easier. Of course there's less fun to using someone else's created language, but it'd be a useful one to work with if one wanted results right away.

The idea of a language for those of us with autism is  Cool .  I took six years to graduate high school because I could't pass english (anything other than grammar- especially literature) and this was before I was diagnosed.  When I was in HS, I peer tutored students with a wide range of disabilities from LD to MR to ASD and even a couple deaf students (both occuring alone and as a comorbidity.)  I remember asking the special ed teacher for english if anyone ever thought about simplifying english or creating a simplified language to make life easier for these students(and me).  She looked at me as though I had magically grown a third eye.  I explained what I knew of such disabilities and that I have had my own writing system since middle school(not per se "simplified" compared to english).  She said I was hyperlexic and over-thought things(odd that I was later diagnosed with AS  ).  I am visiting the school this coming week and fully intend to take her a print-out of the autlang website.  You all please keep up the wonderful work and I am behind you 100%.
Won't Autlang just alienate you from society even more and cause more ridiculing?
Are you out of your mind?  Seriously!
Why do you have to have your own language or anything different to live with NT's?
The whole concept of Autlang seems ridiculous.  If you separate yourselves from society with a community and language and anything else, you'll just induce more ridicule and teasing.
I was diagnosed with AS.  It was a misdiagnosis and it turns out I'm NT but I still went through all the ridicule that you did and I had the symptoms until I realized it was psycosomatic.  So if I wanted to ridicule Aspies, I don't do that or condone it, but IF I wanted to and you had a little community, I could fake my way in.
I didn't say I was shy.  I said I was diagnosed with AS.  You would have to see me from a small child to now to understand.
I still say it won't work and is a ridiculous idea.  If it does work and you guys start using it, you'll just alienate yourself from society even more.  You can't do that...well you can but I don't think it'll be as great as you all think.
But if you guys use it, it WILL alienate you because we NT's won't know it and won't care to learn it.  Also, you're making words in Autlang that substitute for words in English.  People who speak other languages would have to translate twice.  Italians would have to translate "you" to the Italian "tu" and then translate that back to Autlang.  Too much of a bother if you ask me.  Also, how will this help nonverbal people?  If they can't speak English, what makes you think they will be able to speak Autlang?
You can't just make up a language, what about tenses?  past, present and future.  You can't have a universal language, it won't work.  Sign language, maybe but not written/spoken language.  That's just my opinion.
I still say it's pointless/senseless.
I wanna know more about the grammar of autlang: Is it agglutinative? What about ergativity?
It seems to me that aspies would probably be better at speaking agglutinative languages with extreme combinatorial complexity as opposed to tonal languages(like chinese) or other indo-european toungues.
k.i.s.s.? What on earth is that?
I agree-there should be some sort of symbolic language for autists rather than a verbal one. That is, IF there's going to be an autistic language in da first place.
