As some people may know, my favourite band is Nightwish. Not popular in Britain, but very popular in their home country, Finland.
@Iljikamilbra yay you like Nightwish woo!
ABBA and Genesis (Phil Collins era) are my most loved groups

I love ABBA as well Super Trouper!  They always make me smile.

I can't wait for Mamma Mia-the movie Big Grin
G,Day
The type of music I like is Techo, 80's and anything that is current on the pop charts at the moment.  I used to be a DJ many years ago and also I was working in a radio station as an announcer so I'm pretty up to date with what is around at the moment.
The above is from my wife, the better half of micgrace. Mad about music.

Me too!  I am so excited, have you seen the play?

I like Guns n' Roses, Pink Floyd and Motorhead (who I'm seeing in November) among others.

Oh, wait -- that's my other forum...

I guess you are joking, but I like her.  I have a similar range when I sing. (Soprano!)

(Tis a shame I could never sing my favorite music with my voice - wish I sounded like Stevie Nicks so I could sing heavier music!)

Favortie musical: Les Miserables!

My favorite voice is Mathew Ward, a Contemporary Christian Music singer. He was in a band in the '70s called The Second Chapter of Acts, has been solo since and still records. I always thought it was such a shame his music category kept him cut off from the majority of listeners. The crossover from CCM/Gospel to mainstream is so much stronger now. If he were starting today, you would probably know who he is.

I can't mention voices without The Voice, Steve Perry of Journey. I wish he still performed.

I really like Jaci Valasquez, a contemporary christian singer.
Pat Benatar was a choir singer only, then all of a sudden- fame!
Robert Plant has a great voice still.

Stacy Orico is awesome, too. She's had some crossover success.

There's a whole crowd of great girl singers in The Christian category now. I guess for non-believers some of it may be a little too religion-specific, but I find a lot of it to be just positive in a general way that many people would be surprised to find they enjoyed. I don't currently qualify as a practicing Christian, although I still have a strong grounding in it, and I love this stuff.

I can't play my black sabbath or AC/Dc with the kids in the car (language). My kids don't know that some of the heavier stuff we listen to is Christian music.  If they do learn the words, at least they aren't learning words I never knew were in the songs...

"Rodney Crowell"  Double D Debbie with a pole in my pants, Fates right hand...

Atm I'm really into Neil Young, his ability to keep everything very simple yet original is amazing.
