I don't consider myself a fascist or nazi but I've recently developed an unusual interest in the music of nazi Germany. I like the monotony of the music which are mostly marches. Listening to them makes me want to get up and do the goosestep. My favorite is Koniggratzer March also known as the nazi book burning march. I also like Badenweiler which is said to have been a favorite of Hitler's as well. Others I like are Horst Wessel Lied, Parademarsch des SS Pionier Bataillons and Triumphmarsch der NSDAP.

Very monty python!
Oh I love the Königgrätzer marsch as well, the Luftwaffe marsch has it´s glorious side a well.
But my favourite I must say is the Hitler Jugen march: "Unsere Fahne Uns Voran"

Perhaps you can me find some songs I've heard but can't ID. Both were in the film, "Triumph of the Will". In the scene where the boys were playing these drums, a song was played. Another scene showed a man marching in an exaggerated goosestep. What were the songs on the soundtrack to those scenes?
Yes, the whole scene with the Hitler Jugend has two marches on "Triumph des willens".
The first march when everyone awaits the Führer´s arrival and the kids start to play the drums is "Hitler Jugend Marsch" and the second and last one is after the Führer´s speech, wich is my personal favourite and all the Hitler Jugend start singing "Unsere Fahne Flattert Uns Voran".
I think it was the Hitler Jugend anthem, since an old relative of mine who was in a HJ Napola when he was young and said that they always had to sing it in the morning.
Oh, could you please specify the goosestep scene? I´m not sure wich one you mean.
I can't really remember. I'll have to watch the film again.
I'm not a fan of marches or military music in general, but I've read that Hitler was a great fan of Wagner, as am I.
Ah gues im not the only one that has this sort of music ^^!
Its great to listen too as well even though dispite its assosiation with Facsim etc. You also like the ones i like to listen to as well, Koniggratzer is also one of my favorites the way the music goes is nice!
Richard Strauss? He was a National Socialist (Nazi).
I think that he wrote some pieces called 'the four last songs'. So beautiful, evocative.
