Great minds think alike! We had a big discussion on this in the chat room last week.

Some people said it should be based on latin, and various ideas were thrown round.

What about calling it Autlang?

Personally I would like a language that didn't have the word 'the', (like russian).
We need an inflected future tense.  An -u or -lu suffix would work fine (derived from the particle will).  And keep the inflexions for person, number, tense, etc separate.
Shall we start then?

If we call it Autlang (agreed?) and start with the basics.

I, you, he, she, they. I think they should be gender neutral.

I also think words should be kept as small as possible.

I = J
You = R
He = Te
She = Qa
They = Rew

Is that any good? The logic behind it is to have small words, and for them not to duplicate any english words, or words of other languages, as much as is feasible.
We need very consistent and logical rules.

In german, the verb goes at the end of the sentence.

Would it work if we had it first?

Working on computer I.
I have made a chat room on our chat network to discuss autlang as it progresses.
The room is called #autlang.
For some time I have though of an idea for a synaesthetic language, that would move beyond (but still include) what we currently use (eg. sounds, letters) and use diffrent ideas (eg. color, texture, contrast, shape). Though it may take slightly longer for nonsynaesthetes to learn, it would be interesting to see being used, and it provide new ways of thinking; something important to our culture.
I agree that it should be very simple. We will then have the maximum chance for people who are semi-verbal, or non-verbal to participate too, if they wish.

Someone who comes to the chat room and is semi-verbal and often uses signing to communicate, says that when they do talk, they prefer to talk in a simplified way with the same structure as sign language has.

(btw the chat room does not need registering for)

1.  So far things look good.  I just want to make a note:  It should be very easy to look at a written word in Autlang and know how it's going to be pronounced.  Like Amy listing 'r' and 'j' as words; I'm not sure how she intended those to be pronounced.
2.  The chatroom:  Is the autlang caht open to all ages?  Because I'm only 14.
3.  Is there going to be a specific time of day when the Autlang chatroom is particularlly full?  I want to know that if I go in there, it won't be empty.

I will make videos of how it is pronounced for people.

The chat room would be busiest early evening US time I think.

Nein.  Das ist falsch.

I used to live in Germany and was fluent, you are wrong.

Aspergian Ideas forum does not work the same way as the other forums.
Don't post on a thread just to say you don't like ideas, unless you have constructive criticism and want to contribute.

If other people have ideas, here we want to discuss them without them being knocked flat before they start.

As we can't meet in real life, it will be hard to work on sounds like that.

We had quite a few people in the  #autlang chat room earlier, and did some work with Luai Lashire that was extremely productive.

We agreed to use small words if possible because of the increasing trend in texting and chatting online, and to have no word for the or for is or 'to be'.

We also came up with a way to conjugate verbs easily.

I will make a webpage for autlang soon.
Ideas for yes and no?
Can we make them shorter? 2 letters each if possible.

ze for yes
do for no

????
Been talking to Luai again, what about one word for autism, autistic, and aspergers, a word that covers the whole autism spectrum so that there is no division.
aut = autistic, autism, aspergers, autism spectrum.

ji aut = I am autistic/aspergers
ra aut = You are autistics/aspergers

???
That is good. I am writing it all down in notepad and will add it to the webpage I am making so we can keep all the ideas together.

Edit: Actually to keep it shorter what about just the n without the o?
Maxie, that was great.

I have copy and pasted a lot of what you wrote.

Concerning copyright, I am assuming here that people who post additions to autlang are happy to have their contributions put onto the autlang webpage/s.
I am not sure if it's possible to even copyright a language or not, but I assume that it will be open in order for as many people as possible to learn and enjoy.
