  It's a *very* distinct possibility; it explains a *lot* of Dylan's personality quirks!

  Pete Townshend of The Who is another likely candidate. The rock opera "Tommy" is about an autistic child - albeit one who was *forced* into it - and Townshend himself has been known to exhibit signs.

I don't know about Neil Young himself, but he has a son on the spectrum.  I was in a coffee shop recently and the guy working there spotted I was reading a book on Asperger's and told me that NY's son was autistic and that the song which was playing right then, Transformer Man, I think, was one he wrote for his son!
