Right now I'm reading " A Confederacy Of Dunces" by John Kennedy Toole. I love this book. I can so identify with Ignatius Reilly! He is very aspie-like.
Manga. Christine Feehan, Deen Koontz, Anne Rice, Lord of the rings, a few star wars books. Harry potter, Pendragon series, Hardy boys, Left behind for kids. Hmm A few others I cant remember the titles or authors though
I'm currently reading the Discworld series by Terry Pratchett, as well as the Otherland series by Tad Williams. Another series well worth reading if you like fantasy is The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan.
I have to admit, that I too can not get along with most fiction books, unless I have a specific interest in the subject matter, e.g. Hornblower, Bolitho, Ramage, Drinkwater, all characters set in novels, but reflecting the times and events of the Napoleanic wars.
I much favour non-fiction. I am currently reading 'They called it Passchendale', a book about the battles around Ypres in the first world war. What makes this book more interesting is that it isn't a dissemination by some self acclaimed expert, but rather, accounts written by the soldiers who fought there. Unfortunately, it only takes references from British combatants, but at the end of the day, I presume the experriences were similar whichever trench you were in.
I might add, I am not a warmonger, I just have an interest in history.
I'm currently reading The Running Man by Richard Bachmann aka Stephen King.
Is that the same one that was made into a movie starring Arnold Schwarzenegger as the running man? If so, I thought it was a good story, if rather scary in places..
