Hi, I'm the lead singer, guitarist and lyricist of The Damage Case, perhaps the world's first 'Aspie Rock' band.
Whilst I'm the only member of the band with AS, our lyrical content and themes are all revolved around AS, such as anti-cure songs ('White Label Halo'), views of the non-aspie world from the outside ('Anarchy Heart') and songs about social difficulties ('The Underpass', 'Kiss Me, Kill Me').
I think that writing lyrics about how I feel helps me understand my condition a lot more, and I hope that you guys can relate to the music we create! :grin:
We're putting out our debut EP pretty soon, and we'll be gigging in support of it from the Pink festival next Saturday onwards.
Sorry about the terrible recording, it's only temporary until we've finished recording the EP!!!

Sounds interesting, but I wish I could understand the lyrics or there were some posted in the website. Or maybe there are and I missed it.
PS: I think REM are aspie (or at least Michael Stipe). But this is just a gut feeling.
The song on there (Anarchy Heart) is about Neurotypical people and how their world looks in my eyes. The lyrics are:

And somehow I managed to disguise it as an anarcho-punk song? I like to make my lyrics a bit cryptic. Kiss Me, Kill Me sounds like a love song, but it's about not wanting to be touched. I'm just good at writing stuff like that.

I have started writing songs again. I tend to have violent lyrics too. I am sick of love songs. I write about war, crime and obsessive love from my own experiences.
Is there something about aspies and festivals named after colours? The first time I played in front of random members of the public was at the orange wow festival.
Aidy, I just looked over your site. I'm glad to hear that Rammstein is one of your influences, I'm a huge fan of them.
TDC split up this week due to creative differences between me and the bassist (punk) and the drummer (metal), and his massive ego. He'd always been a bit of a spoiled brat who always got his won way, and it got to the point where we couldn't put up with him anymore. We've formed a new band with a new drummer and vocalist, which is currently unnamed.
Hopefully the new drummer does NOT have a double kick like your previous one. :wink:

When I saw The Ramones on Nightflight back in 1980, I knew that this was for me. Also, I Contributed to a 'zine called Maximumrocknroll in the form of a Scene report for the State of Maine that I wrote in November of 1988. It appeared in the December 1988, or January 1989 issue of that mag, in case anybody here has a monstrous collection of MRR back issues.
Someone please ban this guy before he posts on every thread in the forum.....
