I remember about eight months ago I got a tearduct infection. It was your typicl infection with painful, bloodshot eyes and sticky, mucusy tear crystals. I was taking eyedrops every five minutes. I try to fall asleep and ten minutes later I'd wake up again and have to wash my right eye and take more eyedrops. Well, the last time that night it happened, I wasn't seeing very well, so I opened the medicine cabinet and grab the first thing that looked like eyedrops... they weren't eyedrops.
I had dripped chlorohexidine disinfectant straight into my right eye.
...It was quite painful.
But to my amazement, after I'd washed my eye out and it felt better I was amazed that I slept through the night. When I woke up the next morning, my tearduct infection was gone!
So, a word to anyone with a teardut infection. If you have an extraordinary threshold for pain, you can drop a drop of chlorohexidine into your infected eye, and it will be gone the very next morning!
