Instructions To Use Gtalk To Talk To People With AIM,    , MSN, etc...

1) First download the jabber client PSI on http://psi-im.org.
2) Log in with your Google Talk account on PSI (instructions).
3) Choose Server Discovery from the main menu.
4) Find a server and paste it in the address bar click Browse. You will see a list of transports here.
5) Right click on one, for example aim.whatever-you-picked.com, and select register.
6) A window will pop up asking for your AIM username and password. Register and Close. (Yes you need an AIM account)
7) Once you've registered, a new contact will appear on your list under the group 'Not in list'.
Right click on it and select Add/Autorize to contact list. The new contact will now appear
in your contactlist in the group 'Agents/Transports'.
8) Your contacts of AIM will be added to PSI automatically with a JID like: screenname@aim.whatever-you-picked.com
If you want to add a contact, just add a friend using the same format. Authorize the contacts.
9) Sign out and log in using Google Talk.
10) You can now talk to the friends on these IM services!
I'll bite: What does this have to do with autism?
nothing
...ok then.
This should probably have been in the Off-Topic forum, but I think it's a perfectly good tutorial.

indeed

I agree, it is a good tutorial. I've heard of these multi-messengers at once IMers before. I just have Yahoo and AIM going at once though, I guess maybe that would be trouble for someone who doesn't have a fast computer.
Yahoo and AIM working together makes GTalk obsolete. But I am a Yahoo person, and I dislike competition. Especially Google.
