Glad you liked it Pikachu.
I finally took some time off to watch them three videos.... WOW, I am honestly amazed and enthousiastic about these!! Good work!!!!!!

so I'll just be commenting on what I remember from all three of them here, not to reply to three seperate posts

The part from Dean really touched me... that last statement was very strong! I wish I could feel it that strongly! I'm still struggling with myself a lot (depression, low selfesteem), but it does give me hope I might one day feel that too! thank you!

also the last part of the first video... that was I think the part I liked best!! and I had a question concerning that, cause I loved the sound of that song   - which song is it?
and another question - is it maybe an idea to make these protest-spots for seperate download too?

I have to admit, the comedy part was a bit long for me so I skipped it (plus my sense of humor is more Allo Allo than Monty Python), I do like Mister Bean though!

maybe for (an)other show(s):

other movies with aspie-like characters.. the film Pi? It's about a scientist with some serious aspie traits (like being good at numbers, computers and pacing in a spiral which triggers his eureka-moments) it's a very alternative film in black and white. I loved it!! I recognized myself in it too, cause I also pace and get eurekas and I love spirituality and alternative science a lot (but I'm not good at math/physics!). here's a link:
http://www.pithemovie.com/

and the film AI about the boy who is a robot and wants to be normal because he wants to be loved by his mother as her real son (the story is a bit like Pinocchio). In the end he gets his wish of finding his mother's love fulfilled, but not by becoming normal. You should see the movie. It brought me to tears. I recognize a lot in him, in another way he also resembles the thin man in Oz, because simultaneously with being denied love, he is also denied something else - a heart (as in 'having emotions', 'having a soul', 'being real', 'being human'). I recognize that too, I don't know if others do? In any case, the movie is really good imho.

something about JRC?

If just I had a videocamera, maybe I could film one of the meetings over here!? I think that would represent aspies in a pretty good way (if they agree to be seen online that is) I'll put a video-camera on my wishlist then...   any advices on what videocameras are best... camcorders, digital ones?? I have nooo clue what exists even and what is needed to make digital movies like this!!

Also something else... maybe a series with an ungoing story which a group of us plays (semi-reality based)? Not that roleplaying is my best trait, but we can do it pretty RL based actually, like preparing a demo and doing it. That is then actually real, but we could film it in a suspense way (sitting in semi dark room preparing etc) The Aspie Action Group (or autie rights movement, whatever name we give it), with a leaflet campaign against pro-cure. Sounds like a good topic to film anyways

well, feel free to take ideas, I was just brainstorming aloud....

good luck & keep up the good work!! *thumbs up*
o yeah... I almost forgot (I watched the third broadcast first, and that was yesterday...)

"A universe of colour - the synaesthesia experience" was really beautiful!!! I loved that part! I also think I have synaesthesia, for example with letters, I see A is red, E is blue, I is white, U is orange-yellow and so on. I see images with some music, and I always loved the music which gives me those most. I also like the Electric Sheep screensaver (with moving colours and figures), do any of you know this screensaver? Definitely check it out: http://www.electricsheep.org I assume there are many more aspies out there who('d) like it..
And the models were super interesting!! I'm a bit into fantasy stuff so I like the fantasy figures a lot! and the last part was good too, because I like to paint and draw as well  it was a very very inspiring broadcast this time!! TNX!

I am currently making something on the JRC. (Great minds think alike) and it should be finished today.

The music was Stratovarius - I walk to my own song.

That video and some of the others are available for separate download on http://www.autisticculture.com/autisticvideo

If you could make any videos yourself, it would be great.
Great!! good luck with that piece on JRC!

Thank you so very much for the song info! I like this song a lot, and I like the lyrics too!! Actually, I think I like Stratovarius...    cool! tnx for the tip!!!

Also tnx for the video link, I'll check them out bit by bit, from what I've seen so far, they're good!

Another film you could discuss (or I could if I'd know how...) is - House of Cards (1993). I absolutely love this film! It's about a young girl who retreats into her world after her father dies and despite a psychiatrist telling her mother the girl needs to go into therapy because she behaves autistic, the mother refuses and says she loves her daughter as is. It's the closest to anything anti-cure I've ever seen. When I saw this film, I felt for the first time after a long long time that maybe there was hope that I could be loved and understood - as I am. It's not completely anti-cure though, since the girl does seem to change into normal at the end of the film (I disliked the ending, but the rest is good enough to compensate for it!). The film shows things in a magical way, and was criticized for being unrealistic. I feel it is exactly the point of the film to transfer you into *her* world, which is to her a magical experience - in this way the movie itself is the medium between her and us. This is how I feel about it and I never understood the critics (or I just think the critics missed the point of the movie or would likewise be incapable of understanding me).

Trailer 1:

Trailer2:

The words of the mother are strongly anti-cure, and can be heard in both trailers. The second is lesser quality (for me only the link to low bandwith RealPlayer worked) but shows the magical moment of the house of cards. I just simply love this movie.....

In Light,

Good idea, thanks.

Edit: I couldn't download either of the trailers, if anyone has clips or can download the trailers and email to me I would be grateful. Thanks.
and I forgot to mention X-Men....!

they wish to cure us... but I say: we are the cure!

and this other movie, with the little autistic boy who is good at puzzles, and who unriddled this state 'security code', ehm ehm.. what is the movie called... Mercury Rising, that's it

o and - "I am Sam"... that one I saw yesterday....
Anyone got clips of mercury rising?
if that with the previous vid works for you, I can get you Mercury Rising as well, not a very good trailer though (haven't found a better one yet)

sorry Gareth, I was being vague, this was half-communicated over email    I succeeded in getting the trailers from the Temporary Internet Files folder, but I can only save them as m3u (they keep running from the official page I think) but I don't know if it's of any use that way....
m3u files are just playlists

I have looked at the m3u files involved and found they are unfortunately in realmedia format and therefore cannot be used.
