Researchers Phoenix are gearing up to create diagnostic tests to help identify children at risk for autism, a fast-growing childhood disorder.
Phoenix-based Translational Genomics Research Institute and the Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center wants to create a genetic test to catch autism early.
TGen and the autism center also want to use the $7.1 million in state money as leverage to raise $50 million in private and public funds to develop autism-related drugs.

these people need to watch their language. at risk implies there is nothing good about autism ever. if that viewpoint keeps getting spewed, all austitics will be gone soon. there is good things about being autistic. it also says that all these children were born nt, then were taken in by demons and replaced by demons.
btw, why is it just a childhood thing? i guess adults dissapear then.
and i don't want drugs to make me act nt. they will most likely make things worse. how about just giving these kids an education...these aren't demon children.
i think we are seeing autistic kids becoming highly mecalized and treated like cancer paitents. just let them be kids.

Can you imagine what would happen if all of this money was put to good use, such as improving or creating good schools for autistic students and employment services for autistic adults? It makes me so angry to see it essentially wasted like this.

i would like education and help services, but unfoutnley, people think that drugs will help things better. i'm opposed to drug use, and am critical of the pharmacuetal indursty in general becuase of questionable pratices, like "got a problem? pop a pill and it will be better" is their general philispohphy for just about anything. i don't want to drug up my life, i want a drug free life.

There's one thing you forgot, they would need to care about watching their language. Which apperantly they don't, they only care about taking advantage of the latest campaign to get funds. Immoral as it is.
They want to develope the tests and drugs for children before they have a chance to see the positives so they will want these things. Create a demand for it and create a new customer market. Thats what business is all about. Create customers regardless of the cost.
