No, kiki is a character in an online comic strip, a small furry thing easily distracted by just about anything. As to the other comment, I repeat that I have not voted because this is something YOU do or YOU don't do, so anybody elses opinion is immaterial, although by setting up the poll you do invite others to have their say and maybe should accept that they might not support you.
Good luck
I tried to make an account there and it wouldn't let me. *shakes fist*
Anyway, I like your work, especially the water colour ones of hands. Who cares what people think, art is art.

what a marvelous journey begins for you, for us
Hello Anyana,
I agree with bunyip on the art advice and I voted you to continue because when I started art classes in high school I suddenly discovered I was terrible at drawing, after thinking that I was great at it all my childhood. Then I practiced because we had to, and practiced and practiced, and I got to be sort of good. Lately I haven't practiced and I have forgotten many techniques and my hands have forgotten the feeling of drawing. So no matter how well or badly a person draws, we can always improve or maintain skill by practicing more and more.
By the way, I think you have one of the same technique problems that -to be prefectly honest- I still have, which is Proportion. Supposedly one can memorize the proportions of the human body and learn to see them -or see the particular disproportion of the model- in real life. I didn't quite get that far, but I imagine I would have eventually if I had worked at drawing people from life, instead of avoiding the human figure as too dificult.
BTW also, maybe you can get in a drawing state by listening to certain music. In college I didn't understand classical music (still don't) but I could get to like it if I tried to draw what the sounds reminded me of, while listening to some classical pieces. I think many kinds of instrumental (including techo or industrial etc.) music could be used this way. Music with lyrics works if you are drawing something you have in front of you or in a photo, but it would probably interfere if you used the song itself as the basis for drawing, because the mind would want to draw the images in the lyrics. (Unless you wanted to do sort of a visual interpretation of a song. I think it's close to fan-fic than to art, but hey, it's fun.)
BTW ... Why wonder whether to label oneself as an artist or not an artist? Why not a verb, instead: "I draw" ?

anyana Like you I class myself as an artist. I don't draw or paint I write. I am a very unsucessful childrens author. I have written several books for children aged 10 and up but no-one will publish them. I had thought of self-publishing but right now all my spare cash is spent on home education books for my 9 year old aspie son, because the local school has given up on him.
BUT I WONT GIVE UP. don't you do either, its what you feel inside that matters if you are happy painting and drawing then stick to it. I doesn't matter if no-one else likes your work, only work for yourself.
Keep yourself happy, My husband is disabled and he goes through serious depression when his music doesn't come out right or when the old git next door complained about music at 3.30 in the afternoon. (This doesn't happen anymore becaue we built a sound proof room) but you get the picture ( No pun intended)
Anyway just do it for yourself. (I think I already said that!!)
I am not a good artist

If it makes you happy to do artworks, then I wouldn't let anybody tell you that you shouldn't do them.
I am artistic but get bored following the rules, so just paint what I like. It usually comes out okay.
