Who here likes House? Besides the obvious fact that he is autistic(as well as Foreman also possibly being autistic), it is also a very good show. I can't wait till September 21st when the new season starts. That and Prison Break are my favourite dramas.
I love House, and my dad loves House. I figured he was Aspie, not only because of his personality, but also because of his video game playing. Which has been featured less on the show as of recent, I guess more NTs can relate to watching a ER type soap than playing video games.
Did you know that the actor who plays House is really British? So it's that much funnier when he teases Chase about being British, because he really is making fun of himself.

He's in Blackadder.
I think "house" is more like a misrepresentation of an aspie. He seems too deliberately offensive and self-conscious and pretentious to be an aspie, judging by the very short amount of time I've ever spent watching the show (I'm no expert really). I just don't think real aspies go around with that smug look on their face.
Does this character have a cocaine addiction? Could that be a reference to the undeniably aspie literary character Sherlock Holmes? Both characters are brilliant and logical and solve mysteries.
He has a painkiller addiction from being injured in the past. Notice he walks with a limp, I think that's it, or at least part of it. I don't know if that happened in the show itself, but there was an episode that mentioned it.
I thought I saw "House" sniffing a line in an episode. Sherlock Holmes had a coke habit, I believe.
I have recently seen a few eppisodes, and am trying to decide whether I should watch the new season or not. Is house actualy aspie, or is this an observation.
He's an aspie, or something very similar. He's probably several things, actually, but autism is likely among them.
It's only fiction, for heaven's sake! "House" is just the product of some addled writer's mind. He isn't real.
The only drug I've seen him use habitually is vicodin. Although I doubt he would hold himself above a little cocaine, it's not a presence in any of the episodes I've seen, so I don't think he's addicted to it.
About the limp, I recently saw the pilot episode, and it turns out he had a blockage in his thigh muscle, which caused muscle death. So not exactly an injury (and in fact has nothing to do with the show that I thought mentioned it, so sorry, I screwed up).
In the episode where he's snorting white powder, he had crushed up his vicodin to snort it-- it wasn't supposed to be cocaine.
That sounds even more like house than the cocaine.
I don't think he's an aspie, though. He manipulates others too well.
Adaptive learning. He has learned that emotions can be used as a tool, and he knows several ways of putting that knowledge to use, but he still makes a lot of social errors in trying for what he wants. He still may not be aspie, but I definitely wouldn't say he is too socially adapted to be.
Did anyone see the episode of house tonight? I only saw the end of it, but it apears that the boy they were treating has been diagnosed with autism. I would not say the representation was all that great, but house made a few remarks that shows he kind of understands a little about autism (from the autistic/non-curbie prespective). It was also sugjested that house had AS, to whic was said that he is not that deep and simply a jerk. I hope to see the whole episode some time.
I love House! That guy is funny, and on top of all that... he makes you think if he really knows what he's doing when he's working; in the end it mostly proves out to work, whatever he does.
Frankly, I just thought that House was a dick.
Oh look at him

I've seen him do stuff which seems obviously aspie, the actor seems to be WELL AWARE of what he is trying to portray, in my opinion.
The random tv shows, air guitaring with his "go-faster" walking cane.
The Nintendo DS.
