I think we need to be carefull about what we're saying. Remember that many people don't have access to information that accurately describes autism. To them, it may honestly look like what Autism Speaks says it is. I don't think they're saying, "Cure them because they're different", I think they're saying, "I have never heard of any good things about autism, therefore it has no good aspects and should be gotten rid of". They don't see it as comparable to homosexuality because they don't know any better.
I think it's up to us to educate them.

I want to make a film for AutTV called "Diversity every day". If I only had the computer equipment for it.
I would splice together parts from so sociology documentary to make different groups look bad (disced-lips, different practices and so forth). Maybe get some quotes for the cure-diversity side while playing stock footage of the Hitler Jugend and the Pioneers. All of it tongue in cheek. Finish it off with a modified CAN logo. I wish I had photoshop.
