I think they meant "retarded."  You can listen to an mp3 of him responding to a Judge Judy soundboard ; when I heard it, all I could think of is "I've been in this situation before."

I can't imagine the public outcry if I were to sell a VCD of me laughing at a guy with Down's Syndrome.

I've never seen anything about this guy at all, but if its trying to sell an outrageous type of video, is it possible he is encouraging this type of over the top publicity to get more attention?

From what I've read he isn't involved with this at all.  Meaning it wasn't his idea to compile clips other people took of him and sell it as VCD.  The quote you cited is from the person(s) responsible for the site.

But he own the rights to his own performances surely? Is he making no money at all?

Hmmm...I should have put more thought into this post...but again, from what I can see, no.  These are just people messing with him, taping it, then selling it.

I didn't think of how money could be connected to ignorance when I wrote it. Besides, I wanted to get the point across that the website was made by ignorant people who want to sell the tape for money.
