I went to one of those Walk for NAAR Cure Autism walks last October (I felt uncomfortable but had been invited). And with all these leaflets and protests and everything, I'm wondering if there's ever any groups of autties who go to those walks and do a silent protest, like wearing shirts maybe that say \"Don't cure me\" or even for parents \"Don't cure my child\".

I know at least with the one here in St. Louis, you can go in groups and wear the same t-shirts to show you're part of the same \"clan\" or something. But it would be kewel if we autties started going and showing our pride, wouldn't it?

I think I might do that this October, and have a pride shirt all ready.
There have been 3 such protests already at NAAR/Autism Speaks and Cure Autism Now walks.
With t-shirts?

I was just thinking the Ts because that's the trend at those walks, with everyone wearing team Ts.

Ps- Amy, with that list you provided of NAAR walks, are those dates fairly stable year to your do you know?
No, they change each year.

I do not know what the protestor wore, except for the most recent one, we have a thread of pics from it.

Which subforum is that in?

Hmmmm... btw, I'm thinking for my shirt either \"Don't cure me\" or \"I love my Autism\". Or maybe both, one for each side...

Ah, nevermind. I'm blind. I see the pictures.
