Hi, I was browsing both Autism Speaks and C.A.N to check out what's going on on their end. I think C.A.N has much more agressive anti-Aspie/Autie behaviour on their site than Autism Speaks.
I'm not advocating for either, but clearly if someone with a child who had Asperger's or Autism went to C.A.N's site they'd leave feeling much more dispair and hoplessness, than if they went to Autism Speaks.
Claiming that "When autism strikes it is as if someone creeps into your house and steal's your child's mind and personality, leaving only their bewildered body behind." is only to elicit an uneeded fear response in parents. They're comparing Autism to child rape, as far as I view this statement.
I clearly see C.A.N as more of a problem than Autism Speaks, even though they're both an issue. I think more focus should be put on C.A.N though because their language on their site is extremely propagandizing.
