For some reason I can never get autism every day to play on my computer.  It usualy comes up with a message about an improper extension or something, but the one I just saw made me laugh.

Windows Media Player can not play this file because it is couroupted.
Hello. I am sorry, [myownmind], that I didn't reply your question. I just thought that it might be too direct posting this "Hello" message as a new topic. I would like to know what you are refering to as "autism" in your message? Is it the name of the information that you want to associate with MS Player?

I am a newbie in this discussion. You can find more about me on my website.

One of the things I wanted to say is that I perfectly agree with the site's "AspiesForFreedom.com" goals.

I think the only what we need, is finding really efficient ways to communicate between the NTs and the Aspies.

Do you have an idea of what the best method of communication BETWEEN Aspies and NTs would be?

* Drawing?
* Playing music? (recently I saw some aspie girl well playing piano on Google Video)
* Writing? (personally, I find writing a very convenient way, even when we are with my girlfriend, we are frequently chatting using the large-sized fonts directly on the computer screen, or simply draw if we want to say some idea instead of speaking. Recently very interested in one of such language. Try to google on "earth language")
Hi Inyuki and welcome.

Have a look at http://www.autisticculture.com/autisticvideo

It has some good videos and some have been made to communicate directly to NTs, like 'Message to autism cure charities.'

Also "People and diversity - a message about human diversity" on this page http://www.autisticculture.com/autisticv...ights.html
Thank you for the welcome message, Amy, and for the interesting links.

* I just watched the documentary about the 16 years boy with Asperger's syndrom.

The boy says "I am not really not that different than other 16 year olds" "I have hopes and dreams, and a lot of fun hobbies."

My interpretation: I think I was a little bit different from other people too, I could not identify what is my goal of life for, even though my dream I knew from 2 years old. It took 18 years old to identify, and to put it into words.

I think that just the similar way the Aspies could be puzzled about how to express these dreams they have, in a language, understandable to the Neurotypicals.

* While I was watching another video, from the "Kids" section, I wondered, why they are trying to teach SPEAK aloud, but not trying to adapt to the visual channel, which might be more comfortable for the autistic child?

* I should add, that I also cannot play the Microsoft Media Player movie in the News section.

* After seeing the film "Woman with autism", I thought that this woman was acting quite adequately to what would be acting like if it was me. However, I started understanding, that maybe I am some kind of mix of Neurotypical and Autistic person... Perhaps I would not cry even if my close relatives die, I would just treat it as incidents. For me, much more important is the society as the whole, and the Universe, as the a whole, more important than anything.

* Recently I had some thoughts, that maybe autistic people are some new kind of people, who, unlike Neurotypicals, who identify themselves to, and wish to associate with close relatives and groups, rather identify themselves with larger entities like the world, the society in the broad sense?... Maybe they, rather than thinking directly how to help to solve the society's problems, thinks more systematically, and thinks what systems we could invent to solve them?... Maybe they are a new kind of people?
