Okay if we are thinking about a mostly AS Community we should try to think of potential problems before they occur and come up with consensus on how to solve them.

We have years at the least, but why not get started now while we're thinking of it.

First to identify the problems:

Government's big and should probably be decided in a charter.
As for some others.

1. Amenability:
Too often, two people with AS will not get along on the basis of social misunderstandings.  We probably need some social rules of our own to help prevent such things.  Small communities do not need feuds.

2. Schooling:
Assume there will be some people there year round.
Assume some will have kids.
Are we going to use the local schooling if there is any, or start our own?
If the latter, where and how do we get the teachers.

3. Social Skills:
Even if we have students growing up in an all AS community, they still need social skills training for dealing with outsiders.
And because we have to be taught most details, we wouldn't be able to pass them all on to the next generation.  So should we have an NT do it?  Or work as a tutor for higher levels.

4. Noise Ordinance:
Some of us like noise really loud. Music and such.
Others don't like it at all.
What rules will we have for noise pollution?
And then there are things that make noise as a byproduct.
Which can not be turned down
It's altogether possible that Aspies will do more tinkering with tools that make noise.
Now what?

5. Pets:
People with AS tend to be enthusiatic pet lovers.
Now note that not everybody likes cats, dogs, and ferrets.
In fact I don't much like either.
Dogs let loose or on long leashes, cats free to roam other people's yards.
I would not want to live in a community where dogs run at me, attack me, lick me, sniff me, or try to run me down on a regular basis.  The neighbors here know to keep theirs in their yards to keep me from complaining
I'm probably not the only one.
And there are likely to be people who don't like having cats chasing their local wildlife, if there is any.
So we'd probably need rules on animal restraint or electric fences around yards or whatnot.

And I seem to be getting longer and longer, so I'll stop for now.

Other potential issues?

Don't respond with answers yet. Try to think of more questions(issues)
6. Community Goals (Maybe apt thing to add not sure) *
Quite a few people want our community to be highly innovative and on the technical fronteer (renewable energy etc) but can we afford this, assuming we can how do we regulate this do we need a formal policy document?

7. Economics *
I know this has been discussed in other threads but I think even as a new town (country even more so although this is unlikly) we need to come up with written, sustainable, acheviable and workable economic goals producing both the required income to purchase what our citizens require, ensure our citizens a good standard of living and preferably offer a generally diverse working climate (our skills vary widely)

8. Entertainment
Some may consider this as side issue but in reality it is not, we are aspie and as such we are still humans, as humans we all require entertainment of variety to relax and unwind outside of working hours, us aspies have very wildly varied tastes in this way, moreso than NT's given the same population an aspie community I believe will need a more diverse entertainment structure, how do we do this, and how do we ensure each can workably survive despite the fact trade per unit population will be sub average I believe this is a bigger issue in a small community.

9. Inhabitants & Visitors *
This again has been discussed a few times but no satisfactory conclusions drawn up, who exactly can come to our community?, how do we regulate this?, do we need to set fixed limits atall? would our community values aid in ensuring the way of life we need can prosper even if it is not purely an aspie community?

I am sure I could figure way more out if I thought longer but four is enough for now people can add more later.

* Reguarding these points I have raised them here to collate our concerns and points to one logical thread, not all of my comments on these are 100% my own some were inspired by others in other threads, I by no means intend to distract from the origional peoples points in any way by organising them here.
I think how we get on together is a very important issue as if we have regular differences of opinions on the forums, wouldn't there be even more scope for misunderstandings in real life?

Not all aspies are particularly pleasant people to deal with (and ditto with NTs of course) and this needs to be factored into the equation somewhere.
Hmmm, amusing how we keep looking at the same questions over and over
amusing yes, but perhaps a good thing.
it ensures that any problems that may arise, have been truly investigated.

also, a good idea, because the other threads are now cluttered and messy, so perhaps (yet another) thread for discussion would be a good idea.
It might also be a good idea to check if an older thread has the same subject before creating a new thread as a lot of these threads topics seem to cover much the same ground.

the five or six threads I started awhile back all had the same content; however, they very quickly became muddied and messy.
sometimes, you need to start again.

Yeah, I guess that could happen...
