Some of us such as RDOS have a completely opposite opinion. Check out his theory: http://www.rdos.net/eng/asperger.htm

Yeah, I've heard that theory.

It would explain a couple things:

1. Why those with AS often tend to be hairier than normal, heavier-set, and larger-headed than normal.
2. Why (if that's what Neanderthal women actually look like) my conception of beauty (particulalry in relation to my apparent nose fetish) is so much different from the norm.  As I think I mentioned elsewhere, I find "beautiful" women to be hideously deformed freaks, and several of my standards for attraction are inexplicably odd.
3. The social stuff, as they mentioned
4. Some other stuff like relationship of AS to ADHD I've seen mentioned so far.

However. . .

Thought the Neanderthal theory was discredited as impossible or at leasy highly implausible.

And then there's that AS should be absent in black Africans.
Which it clearly is not.

And probably in South and East Asians too.
Which again. . . (Though it may not be too common in Indians and Pakistanis is it? at least I've never met a south Asian with AS, only seen names that clearly come from that area)

my father is indian, i am a mix of indian and finnish.
i have AS and bipolar disorder, and my father seems to show off alot of aspie traits.
but so does my mother.
she seems more HFA then aspie.

The differences between HFA and AS mostly lie in a person's early childhood development.
I'm Caucasian, but I'm very tall and slim. I do have a large bump on the back of my skull though... and what was that about mothers having negative immune responses? I don't know much about it but I do know that my mother was warned against having more than two children for immune reasons.
Such hypotheses are ridiculous... if Aspies were really just part-whatever sort of primitive human, their parents and their parents' parents etc for millennia would have to be, too. I'm sure it's all been interbred and mixed into non-existence well before now.

In my early childhood I guess I was HFA.  Now it's kinda hard to say what I am, HFA, AS, maybe even mildly NT?

Well, it depends (and I really don't feel like the authority on this, given that I'm not a shrink or anything), but what was your language development, etc like as a small child?
